how many people are selling their copies of this game now? I checked Craigslist yesterday and there were 3-4 copies up for sale, when normally there is 1 copy for sale every couple of weeks…
I’m really glad they are re-releasing the game but at the same time I’m bummed that my Dreamcast stuff is going to lose so much value.
Even if I didn’t own a PS3, which I do, I wouldn’t be bothered by the lack of a 360 demo. It’s not like this demo being on PSN is going to pooch the chances of the FULL GAME appearing on XBLA.
I gotta tell you though, I am NOT looking forward to using Dual Shock 3s to play said demo (my stick is 360 only).
co sign. Its virtually impossible not to have any lag over the internet. I don’t think I saw anyone mention this but the netcode is going to be HDR. A big part of the HDR success is the “roll back” on the frames. When your connection isn’t the greatest you actually notice these roll backs and they’ll fuck you up.
They aren’t so bad in HDR because HDR isn’t as fast paced as marvel but think about magneto doing SJ.lk vs another magnus falling down. The sj.lk animates but gets rolled back to you being on the ground so you hit lk lk assuming you’re in the air. So then you get standing\crouching lk while magnus is falling down on your head.
“roll back” is going to mess a lot of people up including trap players. If your connection is pretty good, you usually can’t tell the roll back is happening but we’ll see how this game works with HDR. Spirals trap has to be more accurate than striders and roll backs can definitely get her during her patterns. Strider will probably suffer from roll back specials including animals, bombs and teleports and I can see his qcf+pp being non friendly to. Say it comes out but then gets rolled back, if you instant super upon reaction, would you get the grab super?
all rollback does is return the game state to what should have happened if you had received the opponents input data in time. it doesnt actually move the game state back to an earlier point. you would never get rolled back to being on the ground after inputting a SJ unless, on the opponent’s end, they did something to stop you from jumping before you did the jump, and it took until after the jump executed for that input data to reach you…in which case you might see your character warp back onto the ground, but only because you’d be getting hit/blocking anyways, so it wouldnt cause you to whiff something.
It’d be cool if they changed the input of the super for the grab to QCB instead of dragon punch motion. It’s totally pointless to overlap those supers motions like that. Naturally I doubt they’ll bother, but I wish.
Is it officially done now? Last year it had a piss poor turn out and everyone was disappointed but I haven’t heard of any official canceling. I do agree its all about the other shows now though, E3 woudl really have to change its format to pull the studios back.
I think they’re already developing another Marvel or at the very least another fighter with one of their old IPs (Darkstalkers?). I doubt they’d stop with SF 4 after seeing it’s success.
To be honest, i’m glad it’s losing it’s value. If it means a future for the series, i don’t give a crap if the originals are worth less than the plastic it was printed on. Bring more new games, more players, a bigger community, and so forth.
That’s exactly the idea. If you don’t like MvC2 because it’s different from MvC1, or because they could do a lot with the characters and what not, you can trade what you’d spend for a pizza to help guarantee MvC3. I bet most people here would spend 75 bucks for a great MvC3. That’s 60 for the game and 15 for MvC2.
Most of us bought countless so-so versions of ST and a few others to send the message for SF4 or anything really, and we got it. Now we have the chance to do the same for MvC3, but once some people see that a few fighting games are coming, they are pretty happy to let the rest of the community get screwed.
Many people thought ST and 3S were crap, but we bought them anyway so maybe SFIV would be out. Guess what?
Now if you try to convince me that you have no interest whatsoever in seeing what Capcom’s best efforts can do with the Marvel license today, I’ll just think you’re a liar, especially since you’ve bothered to read and reply to a thread about this re-release. I think hardly anyone would pass on at least checking MvC3 out. And, if you like that idea, put your money on that. It’s exactly what we did for 10 years to get where we are today. Or just screw your own community.
