You can also do an LH instead of an H after the initial Rocket Punch; the timing is just a little different.

Hey guys. I don’t write on here at all but I wanted to inform you guys that I am actually in the process of making a solo nova combo video (a legit one, not the poverty ones i do, lol) just showing different variations using this unfly glitch in combos. Some of the things that will be there i might have already put in another video but i will say this. I STRONGLY SUGGEST MASTERING THIS GLITCH! I’m not kidding when I say I really believe this can advance nova’s metagame. Hopefully within the next week or two I can have the video up.

Also, I don’t want to dig through the forums to see if this is new or not, but a friend of mine helped me with this (combo builds 1 bar by the way)

Okay back to reality…i havent tried it yet idk. I also have another suggestion for the pad players but i havent tried this either…switch the H and L buttons…that way the thumb can press H and S at the same time.

Also Insaynne, some of us had a discussion about using this glitch for a new overhead…TK flight is faster and puts you waaaaaay closer to the ground so TK flight cancelled with the unfly glitch for an overhead with the button that maximizes Nova’s combos (j.H).

I fail to see the big deal on a TK flight vs a regular flight. I’ve been looking at this glitch as an opportunity to setup pressure/overheads/advantage when Nova has them in blockstrings with normals. TK flight would mean I wasn’t in a normal (since he has no jump cancels); why wouldn’t somebody just do an ADD L instead in that situation?

My guess would be to fight off push block with the unfly.

I’m not necessarily saying it’s viable or not…I’m just saying it’s something that can be played around and experimented with.

Here is a very simple combo I made with my team. 4 meters to do 1 million. Combo before the THC is close to gaining one meter. 3 centurian rush gives just a little bit. Only practical if you really want to kill someone quick.

I don’t like how you used X-Factor. If you used X-Factor early, you could’ve killed him with less meter

1- if you’re pointblank, fly-unfly loop. This combo is currently under the process of being optimized by using the glitched unfly for extra heavies. Otherwise, just do a simple day-1 fly combo.
2- Same.
3- Same.
4- What’s a FDF L? Anyway, from an airthrow you do Cent Rush L and follow up with a day-1 fly combo.
5- You don’t do QCB H outside of combos or at super jump height to run away from the corner (and even this should be used sparingly or you might get punished)

I’m having trouble with some Nova->Doom hard tag combos
I understand it’s
air throw, whiff :h:, tag, s.:m: etc.
But sometimes my :m: whiffs and sometimes my :s: whiffs for the launch. Is it character specific? I had some success against Nova but for V.Joe and Strange, it just missed
any way around it?

For some characters like Joe, it’s just not going to work. Strange is an above-average body character though, so it should work on him.

I just went in to the lab and found that you have to walk forward a step before doing s.M, then go into Hard Kick instead of S. But your best option in the corner is to do ADD while whiffing M immediately. This will give you plenty of time, and you can even combo with s.H this way on many characters.

I remember reading somewhere (maybe here?!) that you can Doom hop after a hard tag in the corner and combo anybody, but I can’t seem to do it. The method I mentioned works on most of the cast.

Unfortunately, raw tagging Doom isn’t as easy as raw tagging Dante. If you throw someone midscreen you need to airdash diagonally with a normal like j.M while holding raw tag. Once Doom rawtags you can link st.M. The problem is that this is character specific and doesn’t work on everyone. For it to work on all characters you need to airdash straight down with a normal, immediately raw tag doom, do the doom hop (normal jump forward and immediately airdash diagonally back down), then link st.M. That works on everyone but it’s very tight. I’m sure with enough practice you can get it.

In the corner, you need to airdash down with j.L or j.M so that it doesn’t hit the opponent. Raw Tag Doom then link St.H. That works on everyone. It isn’t as free, but with practice you might be able to get it.

The easiest way to do this with a character that provides a neutral assist is Dante/Chris. Characters like Doom/MODOK/ have it a little harder to do.
Taskmaster can also do it by immediately doing his webswing cancel into a proper assist like Hawkeye/Akuma.

Honestly, unless you’re godly at timing the Doom or MODOK hard tag combo, I feel like it’s less of a gamble on some characters to either finish the combo with Nova or just go for a TAC. Chris, Dante, She-Hulk, Felicia and others who don’t have great TACs luckily get hard tag combos off of Nova’s throw pretty easily, so it’s a fair trade in my opinion.

The timing isnt as strict as people think it is. Take your time when ADDF.

One thing about Dante’s TAC’s is that he still does build a great amount of meter and does about 100K during his TAC. From a ground throw, I can TAC to Dante and end his combo into his lvl 3 for around 940K Damage overall. Kills most characters off of a ground throw. Off of the airthrows, I just tag Dante in for 840K unscaled 1 bar. Million Dollars fortunately is one of the most damage DHC’s in the game. More so than Sphere Flame and even Nova’s Super Nova.

Sphere Flame is about 185,000
