It is critical that you pay attention! The Nova combo thread

Its easy Just do it slowly and dont try to rush it. Online it can be hard though due to lag etc.

The important thing you need to remember is that it is not ab out speed, but a slightly slow rhythm. The first j. H after the initial launch should be done as low as you can and transition into fly, then let the second j. H fully animate and unfly as the animation ends, give it a split second and do the last j. H as you fall. Then, they should be low enough for a s. H, S to connect. Many problems with combos i have had in this game have been me just doing things too fast.

I havent been trying to do it quickly. I never used flight characters. And my hands are not Fighting game tuned. My Vanilla team was Ammy/Skrull/Task because I could only use them. Im just not dept at Fly/Unfly personally. Same for the DP motion. It’s just things I am not good at,

Yeah treat it like sex, Nice and sloooooow.

You can also try out the Sentinel j.H fly/unfly relaunch. It might help you understand how those things work out. It’s Sentinel’s mission 10 in umvc3, if you want to look into it.

When I have problems with other unintended special moves coming out when I’m flying/unflying too fast, I’ve found that holding down the button instead of tapping it can help. Same with holding down the last directional input instead of moving on to something else quickly.

I am not touching that heaping pile of parts.

It’s exactly like sex.

You work, and work, and work, and work… And just when you think things are finally going your way… Nothing happens…

“BLUE BALLS, IM AMAZING”

All my teams have a character like Sentinel, I hate him too, but he’s a necessary evil, for me to max out Nova/Spencer I use him, though I have been playing with other options, it’s tough to break the addiction to that GDLK assist.

Haha what other options are you experimenting with?? Im using HawkEye for that kind of role

Well, I’m way behind here, I finally managed to do a basic Fly/Unfly combo 3 times in a row, good enough for me. But I can’t do the combo I was hoping to do myself still.

(Mid-Screen) “cr.M-H-S, sj.H-QCB+M, air.H, Fly, air.H, Unfly, air.H, S, sj.H-QCF+M xx QCF+AtkAtk”

Can someone see if this is possible, which it most likely is. I just don’t have the proper timing down for it.

Should be feasible. I think thats one of Ve’s Combos, or a variation of it. SO Im pretty sure it works. That hard part in that combo is getting the air dash right to land j.H after the Nova Strike M

It isn’t a very good combo though, so I wouldn’t put too much effort into it.

i really really like that Aegis guard break setup kreative. Gonna work on my Nemesis Nova and strider synergy this weekend.

So I was workin’ on FlyingVe’s latest BnB–still having trouble with timing that launcher after the Human Rocket Punch by the way–and decided to take a break in between to once again work on Nova in XF3. Came up with a lil’ somethin’. Pretty simple once you finally get adjusted to that insane speed boost.

Jump :h:, crouch :m:, crouch :h:, :s:, Jump :h:, Flight, Jump :h:, :m: Nova Strike, Air Dash Forward, Jump :h:, :l: (or :m:) Gravimetric Pulse, Super Nova

It’s a midscreen kinda thing, and I’m pretty sure you could do more with it other than abruptly ending it in a super, but hey, you’re in X-Factor, your goal is to kill the other guy as fast as you can, and that does about 1.1 mil. If anything, it looks flashy, because of the wall bounce–and dat speed.

Can OP be updated with resets including yipes reset?

So I believe I found some new Nova tech. havent seen any videos or talk about it yet, so ill just assume this is new. Unforunately I cant record, so you’ll just have to try it out yourself.

With the High Speed Tackle hyper, if you end it early on the second hit by aiming directly down into the ground, you can follow up with a standard launcher series. just try it out by aiming straight for them and then mashing down lol. I actually find it harder to follow up if I use the super directly on top of the opponent, so give yourself some space when you first mess around with it. This works only if the opponent is grounded as far as I can tell, because you need them to spin as low to the ground as possible, and when I was playing around with it I typically had nova use the super grounded as well, so I don’t know the height limitations on this. with the followup combo, I was able to build 1 meter with an assist, so ending the combo with supernova pays for itself. ends up doing around 700k which alright considering that Nova only got 270k for punishing projectiles before unless you were willing to DHC.

Unfortunately, Nova Rocket is really shitty for going through projectiles. It has invul sure, but not until it’s 13-ish frames of startup are over… :frowning:

yeah its not that great, though you can avoid some of those frames by DHCing into him. either way, at least the option is there if you can find a use for the super lol.
