if youre going to talk trash, you should do it offline to their face. That way the recipient can see your expression and hear your tone of voice to deduce whether there is any hostility. I guess it really depends on how seriously you take the game. Trash talking is neither good or bad … it just is. If you get physical with someone over it as Parabellum said, than you are letting your ego rule the day, and in my opinion that’s weak sauce.
I haven’t been KO’d 10 times, but I have been tapped out hundreds (in training), and almost KO’d a couple times. When you understand the dangers that lurk in hand-to-hand combat, you come to respect that shit, and you don’t throw-down over some dumb shit.
In professional sports – trash talk is part of the game man. So much talking happens that you don’t catch on TV, and it’s simply desigend to fluster the opponent. Veterans love to get under the opponents skin with this tactic.
