Is this game worth grabbing?

Shall do then! I was looking at this pretty cool SFxTekken one on Amazon that’s going for about £80… The reviews all speak positive of it, the stick that is… I know that lots of people hated the game

My xbox tag is ZerberuzKnight cause some fuck is sitting on the s version with no game time XD

Alright I added you. Fun Fact, nobody in FGC calls him Miles923. Everybody knows him as Maximilian, or Max.

Cool, I’ll accept it when I get home from my exam tomorrow. Fair enough, I just got used to calling him that cause saying “Max” or “Maximillion” confuses the fuck out of my friends… Largely due to the fact that we have a Max in the group and I am known to call him Maximillion when I feel like causing shit XD

My copy has just arrived! Gonna leave it on install and give it a test later tonight

(Further edit)
Bastard doesn’t work! There’s a dirty gert dent in the disc, so I’ve had to send it back!

I did. I think you mean reasoning.

You’re in a UMvC3 forum and have watched videos of this game, so clearly you have interest in it and it’s going to provide some unknown level of return for your entertainment dollar. Whether or not it is worth the investment to YOU is completely utterly up to you, but preliminary signs indicate that you are interested.

Good luck.

Killer Instinct is worth buying.

So is Skullgirls

no. they def aren’t

I’ve seen a bit of Skullgirls, as for KI I’ve been playing that whenever I got a break from Uni work XD

True, I kinda replied to that one late at night so my english didn’t english too good :frowning:

I ask because there might be something in particualar that’s “grabbing” about the game, or something that might not be too much to my liking. I am gonna attempt to grab it again… When I have the cash to spare.

But in fact they are.

You want to play a dead game, then by all means buy skullgirls.
KI will be interesting when they add more than a roster of 10 characters. It’s fun, but not there yet.

Not sure why you linked the thread… But anyway, Skullgirls I don’t have much of an opinion on, only having plaed the demo back when it first launched.

I’ll agree with you that KI certainly needs more characters, but it’s still good fun

Lol pointing to character count as a reason not to try a game.

Especially when most everyone has a main or few characters they play at most. The balance in ki specifically is pretty solid for an 8 character game also . Once the game gets to 24 characters it will be quite convenient as you can choose whether to buy all of them or save money and just get a few. Which makes it a lot more accessible to those that want to grow into the game slowly rather than plop down 60 or more like the hardcores.

Everyone can play with each other no matter how many characters they have and they dont have to worry about upgrading to the ultra or ultimate editions. You just have one game with one title that just gets more content. Same with Skullgirls.

Ki is not worth getting. Its 2014. A game with a roster of 8 characters is inexcusable. Don’t forget, you aren’t just dropping 20$ on a game. You are dropping 400$+ for a game with 8 characters. Xbone isnt even out in all countries. Im sure it will be an awesome game once the roster expands and there are more people that own a xbone. But by the time the roster even reaches 20 characters, it might be 2020.

It’ll have about 24 characters (will most likely be 8 per season) by early 2016. 2020 is obviously a joke/exaggeration because you are afraid of being knowledgeable of the game. If you count Shadow Jago, its technically 9 and he’ll have his own moveset pretty soon. Again, how many of those 40 characters in Ultra SFIV do people actually play? Especially an individual player. Fighting games really are almost entirely the characters and very few actually get their moneys worth out of all 40. Plus theres no option for them to just buy the ones they want and get in with a smaller entry price or free like most pc mod and mobile games.

If you mostly play fighting games like myself then its definitely worth it because by the time more big titles come around youll have a large well balanced cast with netcode that is much better than the other Hollywood fighting games. Besides, by the time the other guys wait til 2015 or 16 the guys who started early will be well practiced in comparison.

You’re right. Most people don’t get the most out of the 40 characters. But you get to learn matchups and setups etc. World warrior also only had 8 characters which was fine at the time. But that was 30 years ago.

I’ve gotta admit though, I do like when there’s a wider variety to choose from, it allows for people to have get a character that really suits them and also means you get to match up against plenty of different characters for interesting fights… As opposed to “Jago, Jago, Jago, Sadira, Jago, Jago, Jago, Jago”. I also love it when game throw in those characters like Mokujin from Tekken who have the whole “I just randomly decide what I am” thing going on for them.

True. And this distribution method gives time for the characters to flesh themselves out in tournaments rather than just throw a bunch out there that will have balance issues and not be good enough later. I’m used to people playing the same characters any wayd since in most fighting games there’s just a set of characters that are better than the others and thats just how it goes. Will really like to see how KI goes with a 24+character roster one day.

Zerberus do you even play? I added you and you’re never on

I do play and I was on last night actually, just on Batman Origins… I haven’t been on UMvC cause the copy I ordered was busted and the refund money had to go towards something more important. I get paid next friday, with that comes UMvC, Tekken Tag 2, SF 3rd strike, SF4 Ultra, a fight stick and a replacement chair because mine tried to assassinate me

Edit: Just ordered my fight stick and UMvC3, a brand new copy this time!

The big thing to remember when playing is remembering to make a well rounded team. It’s fun to just choose your favorites but tjey are rarely the best together. That said it’s definitely worth having even if it’s just you and your buddies playing at home hanging around.
