Is this game moving forward, or is it stagnant?

He didn’t even ask for your opinion, how you play your game, how often you use abc chain combos, neither did he ask you anything that has to do with tight punish situations.

From my judgement, your mind is just on Auto-Pilot-Protection mode from any criticism that has to do with SFxT. If there is anyone in this entire community who gets butthurt the most, it has to be you. I mean, you get all heated and start spamming caps, and then you try to crack unfunny jokes (which only you yourself at laughing at) all because of the arguments over this game.

This game is fun; as I have stated before, and I myself am looking forward to how well it does in the near future. I play this game too, and I am getting good at it. After learning the game more, it has been getting more fun. Shotos are becoming obsolete, and Kazuya’s ambiguous block strings are becoming less of a harm. Jump-ins and crossups are not much of a threat anymore; after all this though, it still doesn’t change the fact that this game still needs much to work on. It’s questionable whether this game will be worthy of tourney play next year. We’ll just have to see. I have hopes for it too. So does that satisfy you? I don’t hate you or the game, I just think it needs much improvement. (which slowly is progressing)

Hahahaahaha… dude, it is funny to see how, wherever we see criticism about games we like, we take them as product of “scrubiness” but we never apply the same principle to us when we start to bash on other games. Well, I’m not the best person to say if I suck at AE or not, but I had never taken a game so depth since my SFA2/KOF98 days. I know it doesnt prove anything about my skills, but… I dont have to prove you anything anyway… couldnt say the same about xT since I really suck at it.

I’m not even complaining about it, I just find it clearly overrated (probably due to the lack of better options nowadays) and this isnt a question of bashing on it. It is a good game who has its qualities, but nothing spectacular when things goes down to its concepts and exclusive mechanics (and here is where my criticism lies the most, since they are really crappy no matter how popular the game is).

Here I’m likely to agree with you, excluding the CvS2/3S comparison even if we’re talking about ‘quality’. FGC had hard times in mid 2000’s and SF4 alone recovered the hype, cheers on it.

Dude, I understand but really dont see the point in this. If you dont like it just dont play it, and let people play whatever they want. There’s no reason to feel guilty about not liking a game or being harsh on criticism, at the end of the day its all about taste. Personally, I prefer to prove by myself and take my own conclusions, this is what I’m doing now.

I dont think so… the scene is the same and people playing both games are essentially the same, hence I find the critics much “AE biased” since the game was released. Thats why I mentioned it here, and even your following post gives a proof of it. I often see the hate coming from people who barely touched on it and as soon as they find the differences between AE and xT, they start to complain about. I’m not saying it is your case though.

Peace.

My main point is we shouldnt analyze every new FG through “AE lens”, but try to play them the way they were meant to be. They may have problems but the same gone with AE back then(the fix patches, the nerfs, the hatewave after vanilla, etc). So, it is very far from being an ‘universal modern FG pattern’ as people tend to get right now, and thats why I got harsh on it.

We can say for now the game is moving forward. I mean, the updates, the nerfs, the DLC characters coming out, I see a brighter light for it. Perhaps in the future though SFxT may be replaced for other games. I think SFxT may become a more underground scene in the long run later on.

Anyways, does anybody know when the new alternate costumes are coming out? Such as Lili’s witch costume. Is that gonna release with the next July 31st update? I sure as heck hope so. I like that witch costume for Lili.

Dude, I dont know if I’m being too much nostalgic, but it looks exactly like the SFA2 releasing days… all people complaining about the game’s pace and bashing on CCs, saying it was pure garbage in comparison with HF/ST, etc. Since here in Brazil the community was divided in Capcom and SNK fans, the Capcom players had no choice and started to develop SFA2 scene. As soon as people dominated the new mechanics and adapted to it’s pace, it made a huge success, in such way that it overshadowed completely both SF3 and SFA3 releases. Only CvS replaced A2 years later… I’m pretty sure it wont be the same in terms of success, but maybe the game can have its own space.

About the alternate costume pack they said it is coming next July 31st indeed…

I believe this game is moving forward. One thing that I like is problems in this game get address fairly quick. I thought at Evo this game was gonna be sleeper and catch people’s attention but I felt no hype from the crowd man. This game is a work in progress and I tell alot of people just give it time. Only way we can help this game grow is to keep supporting it and showing the non believers that it’s worth playing.

Sorry but, in this case, your judgement is shit. That list you posted shows how little you know about SFxT and (maybe) SF4 in general. Read your list again…

Wait what? Do you mean July 31, 2013? Or was that a typo you made. I sure as hell hope I am not waiting a whole year for the costumes.

this game in the long run can only get better. but i think by the time it FINALLY becomes decent. it will be to little to late.

Neither first alternative nor other. My english skills are horrible, so excuse me for this.

We are exactly 12 days from release, July 31, 2012.

Its alrdy decent…but judging from ur sig(the small amount of games u actually play), ur prolly looking at this game with “AE lens”

^ well you don’t even have a sig, so I can make a loose-based assumption that you don’t play ANY games at all.

Judging by my pic, I like hen ties.

I almost read that as “hentais”

Since playing the last few months I now enjoy SFXT most. And I was an sfiv fanatic.

At Capcoms panel at EVO they revealed that they would be giving 2 free codes to each registered SFxT EVO entrant for all of the DLC characters. One code for themselves, and one for their partner.
This is the panel, they announce it at 9:30:

This is the e-mail I and all other EVO SFxT entrants received from Capcom:
"Hello,
You are receiving this email because you registered for the SFxTK tournament at Evolution 2012, and are entitled to receive two free download codes for the 12 new character DLC releasing for SFxTK on 7/31.
Please take a moment to fill out the attached form with your platform of choice.
http://shoryuken.com/evo2012-sfxt-codes/
This form must be filled out before 7/29, in order for you to receive your free DLC codes.
Thanks,
Team Capcom"

At the end of the day it’s up to you to form you’re own opinion if you play SFxT again just because all these people tell you to while you hate every minute of it whats the point? if you dont enjoy it dont play and if you do enjoy it and explore. I personally enjoy the game, I play it pretty reguarly and also still keep up with SF4:AE, I feel SFxT is more noob friendly which is a good thing adding to the FGC, Capcom got themselves alot of hate with the whole DLC thing and the gems put people off but the core of the game is fun, lets see what happens tomorrow with the patch but hey games are meant to me fun if you dont like it play one of the other hundreds fighting games

Whenever I view the Replays on GFWL the list seems to be updating (including the replays which are dated in the future ), so which means there is progress in the game. It’s just that odd that I don’t get to meet all of them. Maybe it’s the timeline and filters that other players apply.

execution, execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution,execution.

That’s the only reason that sf4 is held in higher praise than sfxtk is because there is a higher execution barrier.

people don’t like to lose to what they feel like is a simple combo. They don’t care about getting out poked, or out played 30 games… but god forbid they lose to medium skill execution based combo’s.

I guess everyone hates losing in UMVC3 oooooooo ZING! XD . But in all seriousness, I think the SF4 execution isn’t THAT much harder than SFxT depending on the character. Viper is probably the only character who out executions the entire SFxT.
