Wtf was Merus during the ToP? They most DEFINITELY could’ve swapped him in with Tien. And how did Whis NOT sense this guy’s power?
The ToP annoyed me with the Earth centric nature of the Universe 7 team. Tien, Roshi, and Krillin should have been swapped for new Universe 7 characters from different parts of the Universe. It was a missed opportunity IMO.

I liked the Earth centricness, it was essentially the last hurrah for the lesser used characters. Cool to see everybody (except Tien) get their shine. Honestly, they need to use them more in the future, One Piece does this particularly well

Tien was my favorite character. Dude has been wasted for years. If they are not going give them a enough of a power boost to be relevant, they shouldn’t even bother with them bother. I mean why haven’t the humans or Piccolo learned Kaioken.

I actually love Tien, but he got did so dirty in the ToP. Then got mopped by Roshi not too long before the actual tournament started. He was the only one of U7 not to have his moment in the sun

I just enjoy all of goku’s friendships stem from “this dude could beat my ass at any given second without breaking a sweat. I better become his BFF”
I think his only real genuine friendships are Krillin and Bulma. Everyone else was out of circumstance. Like even Chichi was like “this dude is strong. I want his babies”
Piccolo and Vegeta grew from enemies, to reluctant allies to respect and friendly rival respectively though. So I give them that.
