I’m sure we’ve all been in the situation where cable is AHVBing our assist to death. Is there anyway to get the main character away from it?
My only guess would be sj really fast in between supers, but that seems to almost never work.

strider and spiral can. If they aim up on the assist and theres room to teleport, they can get away and disrupt cable’s ahvb. This is if cable doesnt catch them in teleport frames. Teleport frames are fast for both characters but they can still be hit during them. Other than that your fucked. Cable tigerknee ahvb is 0-2 frames. Dont quote that but its incredibly fast.
in a cable vs cable fight, if one cable aims up the other cable can ahvb. Or if one cable is too slow on the assist kill, the other cable can ahvb. However if the original cable thats doing the assist kill doesnt fuck up, you cant get out of it. I think. Maybe guard cancel ahvb and tiger knee back?
maybe if you had matrix and storm did lightning super quick dhc hsf. That may work. I’m not a storm player but I think storms lighting super can go through ahvb.
whenever theres a projectile on the screen and you dhc\super, that projectile speeds up. You can try to work that idea. You may get some funky results. Even though cables ahvb cancels alot of the projectiles, it doesnt cancel them all.
in fact, i’ve seen this in one of jwong’s matches against someone i can’t remember. where that guy was killing jwong’s cyclops, but at the 2nd AHVB, he aimed it upwards for a few frames and he[jwong] was able to do LAXXLS DHC HSF…
other than that. you can’t really escape that AHVB.
that’d be hard because you can see lighting storm a mile away while she spins…hmm
well with mag you can slide under, depending of course (and other characaters who slide)
ahvb can get a strider teleport but spirals teleport is INSTANT so as long as you don’t take too long too input it
spiral, that’s it. strider’s warp sucks for defensive purposes. everybody else gets shot :wasted:
Only spiral can get out of it. No one else can get out of it when a cable does his ahvb supers correctly. Striders teleport start up has a delay while spirals doesn’t. Notice how I said when the other cable does his ahvb supers correctly. If they do it wrong of course you can get out - dhcs, super jumps, etc…
yes your right. but say your assist your assit on the screen and cable gets lk lk s.rh ahvb on your assist but it also gave block stun to strider. Cant strider guard cancel off that chain and once they aim up can strider get out faster? I’m almost positive I have gotten out of it like that before.
I know strider honestly cant get out of it unless they fuck up. God knows I’ve been ahvb enough time during teleport frames.
Isnt strom lightning super faster in the air like cables ahvb? so couldnt you tiger knee lightning super quick dhc hsf? or tiger knee typhoon lightning super?

NO - You never want to DHC to sentinel against cable because his ahvb eats HSF for free. The only super I can think of that will beat cables is ironmans and maybe a few other characters I don’t play.
i see.
knowledge is power.
yeah duc is right. Only other character I can think of right now is Dhalsim lol.
Another idea that’s really risky (RLY) is to snap back before cable does his input for ahvb. Since the snapback flash happens right away it’ll cause the game to focus on it. If Cable doesn’t finish the motion of the AHVB before you do your snapback it works…Yes it’s veryy risky…Pushblocking sometimes works if the guy is really sloppy with his inputs lol
Well I guess if you were cable, you could just AHVB back right when he lands. You probably wouldn’t catch him, but he would stop killing ur assist.
If your opponent aims the beam down just as his super ends, you’ll be stuck in block stun long enough that he can do another one while you just sit on the ground.
As far as fast DHCs go, if you’re playing a character whose super has faster startup than AHVB, then a DHC to Ironman’s Proton Cannon (as previously mentioned) or Morrigan’s Soul Eraser both beat AHVB from full screen, though Soul Eraser sometimes just trades. Hailstorm often trades too. You’ll be down two meters but it could be worth it to save your assist.
Also… Dark Sakura’s teleport can get out of it…
Strider can get out of it. If their cable is too high, you can DF+HK slide under it. If they delay too long or aim the beam up, you can do the long bomb. It comes out pretty quick. Works around 85% of the time.
i also want to ask if this works. the topic says how to get out, not how to get out with an assist being hit, so my question here is valid
Situation:
Opponent [Cable with 5 Meters] vs Me [Magneto on point with very low Health and a Cable** with 3 Meters]
when you’re being chipped to death by AHVB, can you time the variable counter with you’re cable then retaliate AHVB? i mean can you time it when you do the variable counter, the opponent’s cable is still in the animation to land before doing the next AHVB.
Yes, I play a person who can regularly Alpha Counter with Cable AA and AHVB to punish any AHVB that isn’t just off the ground.
i see. thanks
hmm can’t akuma teleport out of it
also can’t sonson crawl under it or crawl to big monkey super or just big monkey super? invincible at the beginning, and maybe dhc to hail for a trade or proton cannon…or trons big servbot thingy.
if its done in a fashion where they do ahvb, hit assist, pin your point character with the last frames of ahvb to lockdown, immediately ahvb again, pin the point character again, let the assist fall uncomboed into the ahvb, repeat, you arent getting out. cable doesn’t need to get high up and let you do anything :wasted:
hmm I think ima try that…i think she can big monkey super outta it…
