random question:goku said that when he frist turned SSJ3 vs Majin Buu (fat buu) he could have beat him… does anyone esle think that was true?
DBZ should have ended after the cell saga, IMo anyway. Basically Gohan unleashing his “hidden power”, thus being the strongest.
Also, I remember thinking in the Buu saga, where was Buu in the future/android saga?

Ever since the begginning of DBZ Gohan always had this “hidden power” which was greater than Goku, Piccolo (at that time) and later Vegeta. Cell saga woulda been a perfect ending considering DBZ was all about Gohan (same way DB was all about Goku, his growth, level up, etc). Sadly, most of the fans still saw Goku as the leading character and hence the impro (imo) Buu saga. I liked SSJ3 but there are a few flaws in the Buus saga plot. Gohan did become stronger than anyone and he coulda been the strongest had he trained properly. Hell, even in the Buu saga he was more powerful than Vegeta (he raped Buu while Vegeta got owned by fat Buu) and i would say almost as powerful as Goku.
As we all know, Toriyama wanted to end DBZ after the Freeza saga, but due to pressure from the fans, he made more.
Actually though, I really haven’t seen any DBZ after the Freeza saga and I’ve only seen the first 3 movies.
Mystic Gohan was slightly below SSJ3 Goku in the power ratings actually.
One thing that really bothered me was how he got fucked over fighting Super Buu.
Seeing as how Buu was at his most powerful state when he had absorbed Gohan(strong enough to kick Vegeto’s ass.)
In short Gohan == Greatest anime bad ass ever(when he’s not going to school like a bitch(/ignore saiyaman saga)

Depends. He certainly had the power, but problem #1: he was slow, and problem #2: he can’t sustain the form too long. Not being fast enough to stop Buu before losing power would be a bitch.
Forget anything having to do with battle powers. They don’t mean dick after the Freeza saga. The bottom line is, SSJ level 3 was Goku pushing himself too far. Gohan (Mystic level, or whatever you want to call it) wasn’t even close to tapping his full potential, because if he did, the planet would just fall apart beneath his feet.
Goku is the better warrior, but Gohan easily harbors more power.
One of the things ive heard that annoys a lot of ppl is the fact that SSJ3 Goku never beat anyone (at least in the series).

First off Scott Mcneil i thought only voiced piccalo in the early DBZ episodes, had no idea he continued far past it. Yeah Mcneil is a GOOD V.A don’t get me wrong, but he is NOT suited for piccalo. The Funimation guy who does the voice totally nails it.
Same for Brian drummond, vegeta just loses all his asskickery under that voice. The funimation vegeta OWNS his EASILY.
Also the funimation music had its issues but for the most part it did quite well to “pump up” action scenes, like vegeta’s theme(with the bells). Whatever crap Ocean used in the Vegeta Vs #19 fight, totally had zero “kick” to it and that fight just lost its whole edge.
Only good thing to say is i liked android 18’s ocean dub voice. Oh and trunks was lousy too.
TRUTH!! In the DBZ manga vol. 18, there’s this one page spread of Gohan in his SS2 form. Dude looks like the baddest mofo in all of DBZ. :nunchuck:

I had honestly forgotten how bad ass the old vegeta voice is. All I haven’t liked any of the english piccolo voices that I’ve heard though…

Funimation uses the same voice actor for both Piccolo and Vegeta, as well as something like 27 other characters (not kidding). He is good at two things: making them all sound the same, and making them all sound constipated.
He also makes them sound like they are growling all the time… kind of annoying imo…

Go play Budokai 3 again. Kame - from the practice mode - sounds just like Vegeta as a senior citizen. Same with The Elder Namek. Obviously, Chris voiced them too.
He’s like that anime-whore-VA Steve Blum except he tries too hard instead of barely changing his voice.
That’s another thing: the American VAs are all affecting these ridiculous voices and accents. They’re all very much “cartoon voices,” like out of Looney Tunes. The Japanese VAs, more often than not, are using something close to their normal speaking voices, and it makes it sound much more natural. They use their own personal qualities and the traits inherent in the writing in order to give personalities to their characters. They don’t get all screechy and annoying when it’s time to play “old man,” or grunty and growly when they have to play “bad guy.” They just go for it.
Nozawa herself is one of the few actors who affects voices, but she’s damn good at it, so she can get away with it. She doesn’t make her roles sound like obviously false cartoon voices.
well SSJ2 gohan look bad ass ,but IMO i think goku SSJ2 with the electricity all over his body is bad ass also
so is SSJ4 goku
but then again he was SSJ3 vs kid buu and he turned 3 times into SSJ3 , in the last fight
