Is there a Dragon Ball Z thread? If not

theres a lot of “in the end” ones, my favorite is one this one dude did with gohan

it was PERFECT (like PERFECT cell was PERFECT)

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/293116.html > the new DBZ movie!!

I just searched “linkin park dbz amv” on Youtube and got 5,510 results. Then I searched “linkin park amv” and got 73,900. Holy shit you guys weren’t joking.

Aren’t there AMV contests at anime cons? Maybe someone has a link, there’s bound to have been a couple good dbz amvs made before.

They’re out there…it’s just a lot of shit to sift through just to find one that’s actually decent… and not samey…usually you stumble across a good on on accident. It finds you…you don’t find it.

hmmm… having read this thread I do like it but consider this:

  1. who is George Sampson? He can dance a bit I hear.

2)Is Dudley black tho? (I thinhk he’s west Indian)

  1. Does Quiche still make avatars??

  2. Is Warlock still b4nned?!

Does anyone still play these games

Merry Xmas,

David

I remember I loved a ton of DBZ amvs back in the day. Most of them actually had like Gundam Wing and shit.

the funny thing is this is better than the actual movie coming out:rofl:

http://www.youtube.com/daizex

This guy has a few good ones. He runs daizex.com (db fansite that is consistently updated…!) as well as a really good DB podcast.

I thought that linkin park amv was well done in some parts. Bugs me to hell when amv creators can’t have consistent quality footage.

I didn’t realize Daizenshu EX was still around. I remember that shit back when it was still VegettoEX’s Home Page on some crap-ass AOL account. Dude had a nice collection of DB music–in RealMedia format, of course.

Oh man, major nostalgia…

Wow, I didn’t know DaizenshuuEX was still around either. But I don’t know what happened to any of the big sites since I left the DBZ net scene.

You are truly old-school if you remember SRED’s DBZ and Chris Psaros’s DBZ Uncensored.

He was SRE, not SRED.

Chris Psaros was hilarious. It was very sad when he hung it up, but it was inevitable. Once the catchphrase “What the HFIL” stopped being relevant, so did the whole site.

You’re REALLY old school if you remember The Daily Dragon Ball Chapters, Dr. Gero’s Lab, Planet Namek when it sucked, the Superpope video games site, and (really dating myself here) Wuken’s page.

I knew I was fucking up SRE’s name, I just didn’t know how. Old age is getting to me.

I remember tearing through DBZU in like two days. Some of the best laughs I’ve ever had.

I remember Dr. Gero’s Lab and PN when it was a fansubber, but I guess that’s as far back as my DBZ senioritis goes. It was interesting to see how the landscape of the DBZ web changed after the series got picked up on CN and Funimation started to produce new episodes.

It’s enough to remember when it was horrendously unfashionable to reveal that you were a fan of the Americanized version. You can spell it one of a half-dozen different ways, but don’t even think about spelling it “Krillin.”

Things do change.

I think it’s definitive proof that I ultimately don’t like DBZ since I don’t know what the hell either of you is talking about.

Anyway, yeah, I agree about the AMV things. Ironically, In the End kind of fits Vegeta (and, well, everyone in DBZ that isn’t Goku), but like everything Linkin Park, even if it actually fits something now, it’s been overplayed by a factor of infinity + 1.

I still have yet to watch the anniversary special. I’m going to try to do it later on today. I hope I can find a subbed version.

^Its probably for the best that you don’t know. Not missing much, really.

And I would begrudingly agree that In The End/Vegeta is a good mix theoretically…but its just been done (and done poorly!) so many times it just doesn’t work anymore.

But I dislike AMV in general…so there you go.

 Yeah… those were definintely the Dark Ages in DBZ Fandom. It was just…bad.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it’s great that DB finally “made it,” and that we have high quality DVDs with accurate subs, a complete official set of translated tankobon, and so on. On the other hand, hearing everybody say shit like “Eternal Dragon” and “Say-en” still gives me a weird itch in my brain.

whats hilarious about that whole cell vs gohan shit is the fact half of gohans power was gone because of his broken arm (he said this himself which lead to goku saying he’s still strong enough)

doesn’t anyone pay attention

when i first discovered amv’s i was like :wow: amazed, but it’s gotten so popular that its diluted with untalented creators and it’s now a forrest with like a couple of good apples

about that post about broly: what was fucking funny about that fight was the fact broly powered down every time he hit gohan, had me in stitches

wow…his ‘I Walk Alone’ one was reeally done well…great editing, timing and good use of scenes.

How would you guys have viewed the series if it had ended the way Toriyama originally projected?

Goku becomes the legendary Super Saiyan and defeats Frieza, then dies on the exploding Namek. Gohan returns to Earth and becomes it’s new protector.

I think it would’ve prevented a lot of questions from being brought up. Because of Goku’s survival and the continuation of the series, there had to be other Super Saiyans, other forms of Super Saiyan, etc. I think if with Goku being the only one it would’ve been more legendary and special. For all we know, Super Saiyan could’ve been a permanent form for him since I don’t think we see him go out of it until he returns back to Earth.

Then there’s the questions of Super Saiyan 2 and it’s differences with 1 besides the obvious power and speed; for example what are the requirements? If strong emotion is one, how did Vegeta and Goku attain it? And with Nappa being a full-blooded Saiyan, what would he look like Super Saiyan? And what would Raditz look like if he went Super Saiyan 3? How can the Human-Saiyan hybrids go Super Saiyan so easily?

Though I love everything that Dragonball Z was, it is interesting to imagine what questions and opinions would come if it ended at Frieza’s death.
