I’m talking about anything related to SF2-SSF2. Sagat isn’t after Ryu for no reason, and the reason definitely wasn’t introduced in the Alpha series. There just wasn’t enough in the movie for me to identify it with the SF2 IP. SFTAM made a lot of stuff up, while making everything else accurate.
Why did this thread get all serious? It’s still a riot. Nobody’s “hating” on SFTM if they point out it isn’t perfection served on Shadowlaw Premium Home and Living silverware.
According to IMDB Die Hard was originally planned as Commando 2 but Schwarzeneggar didn’t want to star in any sequels at the time so they reworked the script and turned it into a new franchise. Man, Commando had so many good one liners. “Let off some steam, Bennett.”
Every Street Fighter fan owes it to themselves to watch this cheese-fest of a movie, after all it has one of the best speeches in cinema history

^^ Ahh that brings back memories. Back in the day when i first bought a Sega Saturn, that was my first game for it(besides the pack in title, which was Virtua Fighter Remix).
Capcom cleaned up the home version to make it more like a traditional entry in the SFII series, and I remember being disappointed that it was so different from the Arcade. However, it still played ok and was fun. Music was neat too.
According to Alan Noon, one of the makers of SF: The Movie: The Game, who came here to SRK to talk about it, Capcom Japan had A LOT of saying in the movie and they were often around. He also said that they were in great terms with Kenya Sawada (that’s the actor’s name) and he thought that the whole idea of making the character was theirs. He suspected they wanted to make Sawada a franchise actor for Capcom or something like that.
In case you haven’t read it:
I also recall an interview with the director of the movie, where he said he wanted to do a movie like Bloodsport but Capcom Japan did not accept it, and thus he ended making a GIJoe-ish one.
sf2 animated movie is anime which automatically makes it gay, because otaku losers who jerk off to tentacle rape like anime, which automatically makes it low tier.
Easy. They were probably more concerned with box office returns than complete faithfulness to the source material.
Keep in mind that JCVD was coming off of Universal Soldier and Hard Target at the time, which was the peak of Van Dammage in hollywood lol. So they didn’t think twice when the opportunity came to cast a beefcake action hero that was popular with U.S audiences.
