it has this “so bad its good” vibe to it. if you want to see this movie, leave your brain at the door and enjoy the cheese. if however your looking for a more serious street fighter movie, then the animated version is the movie of choice.
Watch it on a Tuesday. Trust me.

Mortal Kombat is a piece of shit. I can appreciate that they tried to take it seriously, but it has aged very badly. It’s cheese without the sense of fun to go with it.
At least Street Fighter has the good sense to treat itself as a comedy. It has aged like fine wine.

Yo, I was gonna say that someone like me, whose time is pretty worthless, wont mind sitting down for an hour and a half to watch such a movie. But if your plate is full you may want to just skip it.
I know you got these dudes around here telling you its a great movie for whatever reason but its not. It has like 2 semi funny scenes in it and the fighting is typical JCVD shit where blocking is done with faces and chests. There are no hadokens, there are no SRKs, there are no SPDs or stretch limbs or Tiger Knees. There is a couple puny flash kicks and a super whack psycho crusher.

There are several kinda-sorta special moves, but come on. The reason they don’t do that shit is because while it looks cool in a video game with hand-drawn characters, it would look retarded to have real life people doing it. Raul Julia flying at you while spinning plus lots of blue fire? Come on.
I can only assume that Dirzzt has no sense of humor if this somehow turned him off the movie.
You may not have watched it recently, but I have. The opening title sequence is hype, but it’s straight downhill from there.
Vega taunts Ryu with his KKK back flip before their cage match as well as a LP Rolling Crystal Flash during their 2nd fight.
Ryu knocks down Vega with a Hadoken and Vega quick rises from it.
Honda does Hundred Hand Slap on Gief.
Balrog may have done a couple turn punches on Bison troopers. (not sure about this one)
Chun hits Bison with d. jump MK.
Bison scrubs out and attempts a Psycho Crusher from full screen but gets KO’d by a Guile counter hit Sobat kick. But not before Guile had already hit Bison with a Double Flash Super.
EVERYBODY does their win pose to end the movie.
Street Fighter is the only Blu-Ray I own. It’s that good.
EDIT: Forgot a couple Cammy moves. She does her Frankensteiner back throw on a Bison trooper and Cannon Spikes another while shouting Thrust Kick. She was also taller than T. Hawk.

Ryu’s hadoken is just a very weak double palm strike. Vega just does a spring board back flip. Honda just waves at some bad dudes. Ken’s SRK is just an uppercut. The movie sucks. There is more gun fighting than fist fighting in the movie.
Man, ive been hatin’ on this movie since it came out. Fuck this movie.

I used to think that SFTM was the shittiest movie ever but after watching Legend of Chun-Li, I conisder SFTM to be a fuckin’ masterpiece compared to LoC.
