Then more bitching when Super came out. And, OH! Surprise! MORE bitching when AE came out. Now MVC3 is released, there’s still more bitching.
I agree Sentinel is over-powered, but in a broken sense? No. The thing, if you people whining haven’t noticed yet; there are SENTINEL ONLY COMBO’S. Oh mah gawsh! I bet 99% of you shit-nuggets whining about Sentinel and broken X-Factor just can’t find a way to deal with either of them.
I get people crying to me on Live ALL the time for my Dark Phoenix with X-Factor chipping them to death. What’s my first response? “Well, you know you’re probably going to fight my Dark Phoenix…and you waste your X-Factor randomly in the middle of a combo. It’s your own stupidity you can’t manage when to use your X-Factor.”
And to the people dealing having problems dealing with Sentinel? I can relate. But think back to when SF4 came out. HOW many fucking people played Sagat? And what happened? People got extremely good with other characters. ZOMGZ HOW CAN THIS BE TRUE?!?! It happens in all fighting games. ALL characters are viable. Yes, even in MVC3. Just because YOU can’t play said character doesn’t mean he’s shit, low-tier, unplayable, or whatever.
Perfect example of shitty characters taken to amazing extremes? Wildcat815 from Super SF4. One of the MANY examples of how even the worst character can be played that will make your jaw drop in awe.
No video game will ever be perfect, or perfectly balanced. It is damn near IMPOSSIBLE. Dedicate more time to winning against Sentinels, and dedicate more time figuring out how to get around X-Factor shenannigans. This game has been out for a fucking week, and already people are trying to get others to quit this game with asinine, extremely ignorant reasons, my favorite being “WELL THE PRO’S SAID THEY’VE QUIT!” - Umm, since when? Last I checked all the top guys are still going hard at MVC3. Just because you suck, doesn’t mean you should make others try to hop on the ‘FUCK THIS GAME LETS QUIT WITH ME’ bandwagon.

I’m not sure what you mean, an RTS has execution in it for sure. If you can’t complete at a high level of actions per minuet in both macro and micro, you aren’t going to stack up, period.
In general I think chess is a horrible analogy for any video game. Because just about any video game has some sort of execution level to it, and if you can’t hit it, everything else is completely worthless.
As for FPS games, some of them have a far steeper execution and resource management curve than fighters at the upper levels, it’s pretty much a sheer cliff.
Having an execution barrier isn’t a bad thing, it’s just when it’s really steep, it generally makes the game far less fun, or just flat out obnoxious, to a large portion of people.
