Is spamming sonic booms acceptable etiquette?

Without spamming sonic boom guile is just another well trained u.s. marine of no particular (sonic boom) status.

Poor Guile, he got hated when other characters have much more useful tools than Sonic boom. Sonic boom is his only main tool, given a match where throwing sonic boom becomes unsafe for him, he falls apart (like in Viper matchup).

yes its nessesary to be able to spam booms in order to zone…its been that way since SF2 : )

Hey bro , I played some matches with ya on PSN. Nice to see some ppl I’ve played posting. Cheers bro.

People get annoyed with sonic boom specifically because it is less punishable than most other projectiles which makes it harder to deal with than the other projectile characters. Sounds like a legitamate concern. It can be dealt with, but many people will find it has to be dealt with slightly differently than what they’re used to.

There will always be:

I personally find not understanding why you are getting beat or why you can’t find ways around a particular technique can be frustrating as hell. I’d rather see helpful people (especially if I’m going out of my way to ask) rather than jerks with ego issues.

Damn, is this SRK?

Against Guile, I’ve re-evaluated my stance on how to get past his wall (I main Zangief and I had some fucking awesome/hilarious matches online, even one where I fell on top of a Sonic Hurricane xD).

Against Guile, I find that Focusing Booms/Bulldogging (just blocking and walking forward) is extremely effective. Booms do like no damage on block, so block is a damn good option.

I’d go as far as they say if someone is going to spam a projectile, then spam “block” since it stops you from being damaged to a certain extent.

Guile’s Sonic Boom is like…Viper’s Flame Kick, can you imagine Viper without that tool? Guile’s wall is so strong because of his anti-air capabilities and his projectiles (Sonic Hurricane is a lovely little thing too…). Once you close in don’t let Guile go anywhere, he can’t do shit up close. But I don’t advise jumping at him, Flash Kick (Super/Ultra) or air throw will rape you.

Go into training mode and set Guile to “spam” Booms on you. Now find a way to get around them. That’s the way to improve in any game really.

Etiquette??? Nothing’s “cheap” as long as you win. That’s the ultimate goal. You know, as long as you’re not lag switching or something…

Being trolled en masse since the release of Street Fighter 4.
