Is PC gaming really on the rise, while console gaming is declining?

Prototype is on PC which is the next best thing. I hear the PC port of the second game was ass

I personally game more on my PC now than actual consoles. I think the only rival to my PC gaming are portable consoles like the 3DS, IOS, and Android.

For real though, PC gaming has made me a snob. I cant even enjoy console games anymore. Ive tried to play them lately but I cant get into them. I know the biggest factor is that they just dont look as good and no 60fps in most cases.

Consoles are for scrubs!

Actually all mods do for Skyrim is make a shitty game look prettier. :coffee:

^ Now that’s a fucking mod.

I thought we already established that most Sony 1st-party games are pretty ass?

Third-party games is where it’s at. Yakuza, Demon’s Souls and Ninja Gaiden all day. 2/3 exclusive, too, since you seem to love that shit. Some 1st/2nd party games are nice, though. Resistance series and Killzone 2 are pretty damn good.

Shitty framerates were always apparent, but man…I notice it even more now that I went back to PC gaming.

Lords of Shadows and Enslaved(shit game, btw) have the worst framerates I’ve seen on console. They literally run at > 20 FPS all the time. It’s a slideshow playing those games.

@Yorkey Dude don’t get that PC, it’s a POS. You’d have to upgrade everything in it, it’s not worth the money, I feel bad for you if you already ordered it.

No joke you’re better off playing games on console than ordering that POS. Wait until Christmas/when you have more money and can actually get a decent rig, that PC is not worth it at all.

Christmas is like right around the corner.
I guarantee you can build a top of the line rig for dirt cheap once all those sales pop up.

About Third Strike:

It’s not legally on the PC I get that and as far as I know the only console it’s on that is easy to emulate without a great PC is the Dreamcast.
Now I’ve played some Dreamcast emulators and all of those bitches lacked controller support, so how do you guys play the game?

It’s funny, all this console vs PC talk has reminded me that I even play most of my console games through my PC capture card for less display lag.

Arcade emulators > Dreamcast emulators.

If by “we” you mean anyone that hasn’t played the games cause they didn’t want to buy $299 hardware that plays the best games and doesn’t need to be upgraded every year, then yes.

And don’t get me started on the Nintendo games still pouring in although not for another year lol.

Art - Read up/look at GGPO.

I’ve played literally every PS3 exclusive and I’ve had the hardware since '08.

Most of them are mediocre, some of them are awesome, like the games I mentioned.

Okay I will save the money I was going to order it today but nevermind. I just thought it was good idea cause all I had was 230 bucks and I had no monitor or anything else… I didn’t want to just build a desktop and have it sitting in my room for a few months, wishing I had everything else to use it… I was fully aware that I would have to upgrade everything as well… I payed 230… I figured an upgrade would cost me 400 bucks later on which is fine…at least I have a average PC to use until then, that’s what was going on in my head… total would be 600-700 in the end…

@Yorkey $600-700 will build you a PC that outperforms both a PS4 and Xbox One. Just wait a bit, you’ll be grateful that you did.

If you have a modern LCD or something, you can hook up your PC to it through HDMI/VGA. All modern GPU’s have HDMI output, too.

One problem with that plan is that the parts in the prebuilt HP won’t be compatible with most modern hardware, so you’ll eventually need to replace everything. The only things that will carry over will be the monitor, case, peripherals, and possibly the power supply.

Yep…the motherboard in that PC is probably ancient.

It’d be a waste to snag that PC right now imo.

I love you (no homo).

Edit: Bummer… Seems 3S isn’t on the supported games list :frowning:

@ArtVabdelay It’s back on there.

I’m on there often playing Alpha 2, ST and 3S.
