Come on. If you don’t like Marvel 3, that’s fine. But you guys spend more time bashing it than actually playing the game you like.
This game is a definite pick up, it’s not one you can simply jump into but the rewards are worth learning it for.
Your wins in mvc2 are earned, your wins in mvc3 are xfactor gifts.
Also I don’t recall mvc2 threads ever mentioning mvc3, we know what’s up.

and no one calls MvC2 “da real mahvel” because it simply IS Mahvel. Marvel 3 is Marvel 3, its as much a different game as sf4 is to 3s. MvC2 players know the difference and we really don’t care, it’s more often than not the players on MvC3 who want to shit on MvC2 for being “unbalanced” because they were never good at i-oh hey, is that how that works?

Sounds to me like some people are a bit jealous that their scene has gone bye-bye.
It’s not just that thread. Every few pages in the MVC2 Good Games thread is someone bashing Marvel 3.
Hell, it’s obvious in this thread. TC asked if MVC2 was fun to play casually. In come the MVC3 haters, with comments that sound like, well, people that suck at it.
Helpful Hint: People that are actually decent at the game stopped complaining about XF back in April/May 2011.
So, like I said, you guys might have more fun playing each other than constantly crying about MVC3.
Dedicated mvc2 players don’t contribute to crying about mvc3. We have our community just like you have yours. And not all mvc2 players trash it because they are trash at it, I was one of the higher ranks in vanilla, I had my fun, it only travels so far until you realize the bullshit built into its mechanics.
Umvc is scrub friendly whether you wish to believe it or not. I won’t argue the validity of that comment. It stands.
You may feel free to bash mvc2, the “unbalanced” game though.

Mvc2, like all games had its time. It has depleted like all other games will eventually. But again I say there is a community in which ppl are not consistently complaining about mvc3 for they do not give a rats crap.

Im sure if I wanted to I could find posts of people talking shit on MvC2 and then say they are just jealous their game will never be as hype or good as MvC2, but I just don’t care

You whined about another MVC2 vs MVC3 argument. I stated that most MVC2 threads turn into that at some point.
Other Guy said that MVC2 players don’t bash the game. I simply proved him wrong.
Now, feel free to go back to finding ways to post about MVC2 in every single post you make.
Thanks for making a blanket generalization that did not need to be made. Especially bringing up a thread where people are randomly discussing the game. I’m sure that has advanced the conversation in any way. golf claps Intriguingly, the MvC3 forums also did this kind of thing to MvC2 before I and other mods completely shut that bullshit down. They’re completely different games: respect each for what they are, not bemoan what they aren’t and never tried to be. Anybody who doesn’t get that should go log off and level up in life before posting further.
MvC2 is pretty deep and rewarding. I regularly find interesting people to play random low tier matches with online, as well as skilled players to play top tier matches with online.
But this is really something you should be able to decide for yourself. 
A fun low tier team to start with is Ryu-B / Akuma-Y / Ken-A. A good high tier team to start with is Cable-B / Sent-Y / CapCom-B (or Cyke-B). If you’re getting flummoxed by MSP, learn Megaman. He dies to all sorts of stuff but has a particularly good matchup (when backed with a projectiled assist such as Sent-Y or Doom-B) against MSP.

I strongly agree with this statement. I try not to play him against people unless it’s either to point out that they should stop mashing OR I feel like they’re strong-minded enough to deal with the stupidity. Dumb MSPers often find it hopeless enough that they ragequit out. If they don’t get you in the opening three hideously laggy seconds, they at least have to work pretty hard for the victory which in itself is a win.
I picked up Marvel 2 for fun late 2008.
Ended up making an account for this site to get better and cracking out on the game till November 15th 2011.
You can’t play Marvel 2 for fun unless you play with friends. If you try to play for fun, you will just end up doing what I did. Dropping every game for Marvel 2. Lol
The few times I’m able to play online at FDM sessions I love walking forward with BH, good thing so many people don’t know Cr. LK loses to St. RH. Now if only the BH St. RH Super Jump, air Dash, J. LP, J. LK, J. MP, repeat infinte wasn’t so impractially hard

Megaman is a soft counter character for Magneto, and is mildly problematic for Storm. He wins by time wasting, and making you beat yourself. Between his assists, his lights outpriorizing or trading with yours, he can win by making you walk into shit you normally wouldn’t. He also counters to an extent really stupid Storms. He has this nasty habit of jumping buster shots just low enough you can’t dash forwards, and if you typhoon XX Hail, the buster hits your foot. There’s an old saying, that if you destroy a man’s plans, you’ve destroyed the man.
What I find fascinating however, is just how many Storms will TK a typhoon to destroy the jumping buster shot, oh, wait, NONE!!!
Has anyone tried MM, Doom-b, Cyclops/Jin-b? I’ve seen better, but the chip damage is out of this world. Maybe I can sub the anti-air for Sentinel for the Doom-Sent DHC [which is every bit as good as the Storm-Sent] so I can better use any meter gained. Hmmm.
This setup is an example of just how ruthless MM can be in burying those who don’t know what they’re doing. Unless you have Doom-b as well, MM’s got you. You almost have to get lucky, or have Cable to AHVB something. Magneto isn’t likely to enjoy this much, and if you’re can’t deal with MM’s air hp with Storm, you’ll hate it more.
If you are on the ground point-blank with Megaman and you’re forced to block Doom, MM gets to drop more stuff. However, most players are unaware of the fact that MM can dash forwards walking you out of blockstun, and throw you between the orbital and dispersion phases of the rocks. If you’re lucky, you’ll just be embarrassed and feel taunted. If unlucky, you get otg’d by rocks, MM launches you, and you eat a combo. I’ve done it now. And with the exception of Sentinel, jump ins don’t work well vs the second assist. Furthermore, Megaman has no trouble covering his assists.
If you attack, you might eat Jin-b and get blasted back out. If you block, you might lose 10% of your health to chip. If you call an assist and MM has any charge, he can Red shot XX HMM. It’s not much damage, but it’s a free assist punish with the option to DHC on the assist. If he back-dashed first, it’s a full on combo if he makes the full dash [so long as the shot is red] on anything the buster hits. By the time you get to him, he’s able to call assists again and block.
Megaman is far more ruthless than you think. Now imagine if he could wave-dash, and fast dash while charging.
