You could at least put in a period once in a while. Seriously that whole post was almost 2 sentences.
Also what did we just say about posting more than once in a row?

Periods are your friend.
Dude, stop double posting. Is this your first day on the internet or something?
Oh, and you’re argument about this being deeper then that, I’m not sure you’re qualified to to judge that based on the posts you have made so far.
See that, right there.
That shit isn’t English dude.
Glad you’re all hyped up on the forum, but slow down some, forums are meant to go slower than chat rooms.
so your sayin posting your opinion is a bad thing when this is a discussion forum about how people feel kof12 is a bad thing i really don get how u can get into trouble for that, i understand if this was like a character specific combo thread or sumthing.
Can I get a facepalm please? Like the biggest one you can find.
Yeah, yeah I give up on him.
Anyway back to intelligent things; has anyone else noticed on PSN, that the people you play against DON’T show up in “Players Met” after you play them? This is the first game where I’ve seen that occur.
Any ideas?
Yeah, i noticed the same thing, this is pretty retarded in my opinion, because I have to keep a freaking piece of paper and a pen nearby in case I play someone good. Very silly Namco. Oh, and it took me a good while to figure out how to accept an invite in the game too…why not leave that shit in game instead of doing it in the XMB?
holy fucking shit, thats just what it misses. XI had a shitty ass cast, XII has a decent cast but it missis so many damn characters, moves and dm’s. yamazaki and mai along with king shit on all these bitch ass characters like elizabeth, wtf she even doing in this game? and wheres k? didnt snkp realize nobody liked her or even played her, like ever. snkp lack good designs that it used to have, the characters look and play dry. thats why the game needs characters like yamazaki and geese to keep it interresting. this is coming from a biased ass motherfucker though. no yamazaki or no interresting characters is a big no no. motherfuckers. where the bad guys @, dont tell me ash all we get?
Um, it’s 2009, not 1998.
Only having five stages, having completely underwhelming music, and such a small roster is a nitpick yes. Aesthetic changes for the backgrounds and inconvenience on choosing other characters, both understandable due to the amount of work it took to create them. The music can be worked around.
Unfortunately for this title, Blazblue and SF4 were released this year, and they both feature much, much, MUCH more content, especially under the realization of what shape the competitive market is in.
Do I personally care that there’s no story mode, last boss, tutorials, trial mode, challenge mode, extras and so on? No, I don’t give a shit about it, but that’s only because I can tolerate it not being there, otherwise it’s still an actual FLAW against the game. There are actual standards now. If this was released two to three years ago noone would have gave a flying fuck what this game had packaged with it, so long as there was a practice mode and versus mode option. That’s just how we are. What’s a new person going to do with this game? They’re not going to have a clue what Critical Counters are, they’ll be clueless on how to actually play this game, how each character actually operates, what other system mechanics are; they’ll just look at it and return it or throw it on the shelf and go back to getting hours and hours out of BB’s story mode, or an actual challenge and worthwhile options to unlock out of SFIV’s challenge modes.
To us, yeah, this game is fine, but that doesn’t keep it from being the odd one out now. Not anymore. Looking pretty is only going to take this so far.
It is a good fighting game.
First off Attn alex073088: Please stop spamming the thread. You have SEVEN posts on this page alone. 3 of the posts are consecutive and so are 2 others. If you want to respond to two or three different people then please use the multiquote feature so you can respond to everyone in a single post. If you realize you left someone out just edit your post instead of making a new one. Like people are saying this is NOT a chat room so cut that shit out please. Thank you.
On Topic: This game is definitely fun but has some MAJOR issues. The fighting is very bare bones with very little depth. The combos are incredibly easy, I was able to learn 5 or 6 character’s bnbs, super set ups etc within an hour (whether or not this is a good or bad thing is up to you). Like previously mentioned the characters feel incomplete and rushed. Seems like they spent more time drawing and animating the characters than working on the fighting system and mechanics. To the person that said KOF12 has more depth than sf4 and BB, sorry but that is FAR from the truth.
The game also lacks any good single player modes. Normally I wouldn’t complain about something like this because I mainly like to play the games competitively against other real players instead of doing single player bullshit BUT the netcode is so bad it makes the game literally unplayable online. Even playing with friends with good connections there is still a HUGE amount of input lag making it impossible to react to situations and attacks. I had trouble blocking fireballs from full screen because the game wouldn’t register me hitting back in time. Supposedly they are patching it and going to fix the netcode which would be great.
In the end I am really wanting my 60 bucks back. I’ll give it till Tuesday to see if the patch actually fixes the problems. Even if they fix it the mechanics are so simple I don’t see me playing this very long. It will probably end up collecting dust while I play BB and SF4 which is a shame because I was REALLY looking forward to this game.
Thats exactly what i been saying, yamazki, king, mai, and k-dash would have mad e the game feel more complete, because of the mechanics in the game i really like there not so much focus on the characters core special moves like in sf4, i feel as though that individual character ideas and the amount of them make the difference in this game(kinda reminds me of tekken in 2d). For this game series these characters give the game the difference and personality, like mai(comic relief), king(hardcore butch female muh tai fighter), k-dash(silent anti-hero), and yamazki(badass deranged pyscho). I feel like these cahracters would kinda give the game more substance and give players more characters to always enjoy using.Becuase quite honestly some of those characters are just plain, like that ugly ass elizabeth. And i know that people like them alot, but i really really feel like robert and shen woo do nuthin for the series over the 4 characters i mentioned before.
I haven’t played the game yet so you can take my opinion as a grain of salt if you may.
But judging all of the posts people have written on this game, a lot of the complaints are minuscule in comparison to the entire game itself. People are complaining about the lack of stages but if I’m not mistaken, SF IV has probably double what KOF has but who honestly plays on every stage? When SF IV first dropped at arcades, the stages were minimal as well and no one said a word.
Give or take I would say only 4-5 stages were actually used when fighting other opponents online or even at the arcade cab. However, no one seems to complain about that. I’d say 95% of the time, people in SF IV just press random because they could give a shit about the other random stages (training stage, nighttime chinatown, etc etc)… When do you ever see these extra stages being played at tourneys? Very seldom.
Looking at KOF XII, the stage selection is smaller, however because of the time and effort put into the actual character animations and the other game mechanics, worrying about the stages is the last thing on my mind. SNK’s objective was to focus entirely on the mechanics of the game moreso than the little extra nic nacs that people are nagging about.
The character selection is fine to me since you can always mix and match your team to your liking, and are not dependent on just one single character to lead yourself to victory. I personally feel the learning curve of the KOF series is greater than SF but not BB.
I just feel that people are complaining too much about things that can be fixed over time. Not only that, but I feel there’s a bandwagon hopping brewing as well since majority of the people posting have not really contributed any sort of relevant explanation other than “online stinks, netcode rotten” or “character and stage selection sucks, don’t buy”… Give the game time to grow at least, give or take 3-7 months.
People seriously want to play SF4 over this game? :S
The current ones still look pretty old to me
A game is supposed to develop competitively in 3-7 months from it’s release, not put band aids on features it’s clearly lacking in comparison to the competition that put much just as much work into their product as they (SNK) did.
Sorry i didnt know that you could do that >< this is my first few hours ever even being on this website im not really a forum website kinda guy, i have so much to say and its nice to see what other people have to say about the game also. I really agree with you on how i feel like kof12 is very simple there combo system doesnt allow to much of anything unless your critical countered, there no canceling of moves or very safe block strings for people who turtle and block all the time. And im not to sure but are u allowed to break throws? I know that blazblue has only 12 characters, but in actuality the amount of work that went into those 12 surpasses that amount of work that went into all 22…and if not then its about the same …5 backgrounds and new graphics will not make the automatically make a game good. Thats why i feel if they atleast had more fan favorites it would level out the fact that it feels so incomplete the individual characters do no have much by themselves so with more characters you feel like you have more options. The game is not bad but, for this being 09 the year of the fighters kof12 comes pretty short.
Lots people moan about the character selection and movesets. For most of us without local play (even my brother refuses to play this until Mai is added) the laggy online is the true turn off.
The fighting engine is perfection. If every KOF plays like this from now on I am a happy man. While all of the characters, besides Ash, have a smaller moveset, their functionality is practical and clean. The only problem I for see is that certain characters might have a one dimensional play style. For instance, Mature relies on her dp too heavily. This is one of the best series revisions I have played. SF4 and Tekken 4 are examples of revisions that do not exceed their predecessors. People are gonna have to let the series grow into its new shoes. The character selection will naturally grow with time.
this is exactly what I went through
