Is it me or is this game really that unbalanced

this x666

i was going to play Nekuro but everything was so hard, now i use Chun and everything is easy, gosh…

more Blanka slamming, less crying about 3s tier lists please

I wasn’t even aware 3S had "tiers"
I mean, from playing the game off and on for about 5 years, my general understanding is this:
Scrub mindset:
Top tier = Ken / Chun and that elusive Yun character that only pros can play.
Bottom tier = Tweleve, because Sean can’t suck because he’s a shoto.

Actual “tiers”:
Everybody has an orgy, where Chun’s the ring leader that keeps everybody in their place.
Sean’s the photographer that’s not hung enough to participate.

Forget Blanka, fuck Cammy. Worst character ever.

CvS2 Cammy was arguably the point where Capcom’s quality control truly jumped the shark. 3s Chun is a much more rounded out character, and you need skilled kara spacing to properly start the super/throw mix-up.

Cammy’s had her share of top and not top.
I mean…

ST and Alpha, she’s trash.
XSF, MvC2, and CvS2, she’s amazing.
I have no idea where she’s at in SF4.

Dankah’s Tokyo 3rd Strike Tier List. Tier based on the words I use the most when fighting each character.

Wow:
Chun + Yun

Fuck:
Ken + Makoto + Dudley + Gouki + Yang + Ryu (Denjin)

Ghey:
Urien + Ryu + Alex + Necro + Hugo + Oro + Remy + Ibuki + Elena

Lame:
Q + Twelve + Sean

Urien lower than Dudley and Yang make no sense to me.

“Tier based on the words I use the most when fighting each character”

It’s not supposed to make sense, just like tier lists in general don’t make much sense for 3rd Strike. It’s just literally what I say most of the time when i get caught with Yun 123 out of nowhere, or Shoryu’d by Kuni with full meter, or unblockabled by Koro. Wow, Fuck, and Ghey seem to be my level of severity of how doomed I am.

All this shit about tiers and character loyalty remind me of something Viscant once said. Basically, Jay says that if he loves a game enough that winning and losing matters, then heck yes he’s gonna use strong characters to increase his chances of winning. The thing is, I can see the logic behind that and fully agree. If you love a game enough to play it competitively, if you love its system enough to spend time learning it, then you might as well increase your chances of winning by using a character who thrives within that system.

She’s amazing in 2012 because everyone’s mediocre, she and the other top tiers are just the least mediocre of the bunch.

Automatically “ghey” tier because he’s played by a guy who’s name means “six blowjobs.”

Fookin’ Mongorians.

So basically the game suffers for the same reason that MvSF does?

LMFAO does “Urien” really mean that?
EDIT: Had to look it up:

it makes a lot of sense

Urien has poor footsies in comparison to Dudley and Yang. Aegis setups are his ace in the hole but until he has super Yang and Dudley can wreck him.

Hmm, one of the top UK players has been using Urien since about 2002, and AFAIK, hardly anyone has ever beaten him. This is central London, on proper white Jap cabs, lol
We had an Oro as well at one point KO everyone. When your execution is top-notch, parry > mega combo really is goodnight tier (applies to many fighters of course, but 3s generally isn’t a ToD kinda game).

Going back to Cammy… hehe, we had a V-Cammy, waaaay back in the day, that I don’t think anyone could beat, and pretty much ended the A3 scene in the UK as it was (very vibrant up to around 2001, give or take).

I guess he meant “urien is played by Rockfeller”, which, romanized, is written “roku fella”. (roku means 6 in japanese)…

Duds and Yang are better than Urien

they’re better than Ken too IMO

I wouldn’t disagree. People use ken because he’s easy to use and has that fucking super that punishes everything.
