Low forward all day is a terrible habit that Ken, in fact, teaches most players at some point in their 3s journey.

Gouki HP SRK is fully invicible the first two frames and upper invincible two more frames.

He means it’s used as a false sense of security, or as a “crutch”. It’s true, but you could also say almost anything discovered by players will seem unbeatable at first. Makoto used to be bumped to right below Yun(making her 2nd best, even better than Chun) because of her Double Fukiage juggle, but then that didn’t last long and people started making SA1 more legit than it used to be.

I’ll admit it took me a while to look at Urien as something more than just Unblockables and even “AA Fireball = profit”.

Confirm. You can also use Shoryuken to punish. I’ve seen this at least once in an old FFA ranbat(probably Ed Ma vs JR).

A lot of things can punish HK tatsus (in theory), but it highly depends on the position between both chars after the tatsus.
Ken’s SA3 probably always hits even at max range, but i don’t think SRK does, even kara-ed.

I checked the video, and there’s just enough room for Ken’s HP SRK to connect. I should mention that JR did do a cr.MK->HK Tatsu, making the 2nd hit of the Tatsu whiff, so that may have affected where Akuma lands.

If the first or two of rh tatsu whiff you are pushed back farther and left outside of shoryu range (cannot recall if kara shoryu will hit or not).

Here’s the video, JR Rodriguez vs Ed Ma. It’s around 2:48 or so. As for JAK, the thing is that the 2nd hit of Tatsu whiffing might have actually caused the HP SRK to hit.

cr blocking in that situation causes the second to last hit to whiff leaving you close enough to punish with fp shoryu

stand blocking in that situation causes to you to be pushed out of shoryu range

I will just maintain that not relying on easy mode characters teaches you more about a game than sticking to an easy character. Think of it like Dragon Ball rules: Training with an extra 100lbs on is harder, but once you take the weight off you can fly.

BTW: I rarely ever punish Akuma’s tatsu with super. I think it’s easier to just block low, and then the 2nd or 3rd hit of his tatsu you can just do a regular parry and then nail him. Harder to get a good punish on him with that though with certain characters because when you hit him he will be airborne and it’s hard to follow through.
