I agree. This fucking idiot named sd artayes or something like that trying to talk shit to me. After beating him numerous times, I kicked him out of the room because my friend joined and i wanted to play 1v1. He goes off sending me like 5 messages. fucking crybaby.
He was fucking horrible and just abused lag into random ass mashed out magnetic storm. awful player with an even worse attitude.
have you ever played him? he sucks balls. spamming drillkick and hooks in lag + doing random mashed out magna storm (which is pretty much punish free in lag).
I have no problem with online all stars. they play a different game than me. I just didnt appreciate him acting like hes some straight up G. He is so bad!!! I hope I can play him offline one day.
good. I hope he reads what i said and learns that winning online vs randoms doesnt make him anything special. Also he should learn not to mash throw on wakeup every time.
online is just goofy. like everyone has said before, unless you actively choose to treat it like its offline, it’s just a shitfest.
you wouldn’t do random magnetic storm offline because it almost certainly wouldnt work and you’d be punished for it. same with doing like light hooks, then light hooks again immediately, etc. offline when they try that again every character i play or can think of can do something to stop that. it’s great online though because you’re probably already missing 1-2 frames, then add on reaction time and suddenly what was once a like i dunno, 5-10 frame gap or something becomes very small so if you didnt already choose to guess shoryu or guess parry you’re gonna eat another one or be stuck blocking.
random just works soooo well online. not to say being ‘random’ isnt part of playing 3s offline too. its just offline 7/10 times being ‘random’ gets you punished. online its more like 4/10 gets you punished correctly due to delay and internet inconsistencies.
I only played jp guys when I was on GGPO, so I never played him. I didn’t expect him to bust out the lag tactics though, but w/e. I never played him. v(´ー`)v
Played ranked for a couple hours last night. Online is definitely goofy, but I think running into the same dude a few times in a night really helps out with that. Random doesn’t work as well, even online, if you’ve already seen what they do and are ready for it. Playing in ranked can be kind of unsatisfactory though, for a couple reasons:
The default seems to be “I will wake up shoryu and super.” You have to punish them once or twice before they stop. Some dudes never stop.
Akuma gets really good online just doing basic stuff. Throwing out tatsus and air fireballs by themselves seems to be a pretty solid strategy there.
If your connection isn’t great you get teleport wackiness. One second the guy is midscreen from you, next second he is right in your face, down medium into super.
Despite all that though, there were some good matches with what seemed like good players. The trick is to play them more than once. I suspect lobbies are better for this but I never find any without red connections across the board.
Has anyone played against the top ranked XBL guy? I think his name is smokeysm or something like that. He played Elena three times against me and seemed pretty good.
yeah i was being generous. i mean just as an example i got to play mutantxp a few times last weekend and i think he may have used hooks offensively once on me outside of a combo. he knows its unsafe because he plays with good players who red parry it or do something during startup, etc.
Just checked a couple uploaded Youtube replays, seems like he always plays Elena. Huh, must not be the same guy. I went 1-2 against him on mirror matches and thought he was solid. Usually meeting other online Elena players is kind of silly because most of them aren’t very good. At least on XBL.
I’ve played smokeyism or whatever his name several times. Don’t remember him using Elena though. I’ve played most of the top ranked players (Aste Risk, Johnitto, kefkaggpo) and they all seem like they deserve their positions.
