Is Blazblue a good fighter

PLAY 3RD STRIKE ITS A GOOD GAME!!!

Blazblue is an okay fighting game in my opinion. I just can’t stop thinking “Wow this awesome… and not guilty gear… D:”

LOL but the only real reason I play the game is because Hazama is there, otherwise it would probably be collecting dust somewhere right now.

its fun but its not good.

BB is a good fighting game
usually a lot of the complaints about it, its that its not GG, wich from the very begining we were told that it wasnt gonna be

another thing, the people who claims that ct was more fun than cs or csii are usually jin, arakune, rachel and/or v13 players

LOL

hmmm, which version of BB are you talking about? I dont see how grabs are useless, or how they destroy the pace of the game

It’s a good game. The sequels have all been improvements. Even the “bad” characters usually have some good stuff so they can still be fun.

I meant the broken characters were all viable.

Makoto, Litchi, Taokaka, Valkenhayn, Hazama, Bang, Carl, Arakune

Less broken chars still viable: Lambda, Ragna, Mu, Hakumen

None viable chars: Noel, Tsubaki, Rachel

Pretty fucking good to only have 3 really bad characters and most of the cast in upper A-S tier

I think if 13 characters can all reasonably compete with each other, they don’t really count as “broken.” Those bottom three characters were just really shitty.

Also CS Ragna was just an okay character. Good players could block his mixup, and I don’t remember exactly, but he didn’t have very many moves that were safe on block, let alone instant block. He was a lot better with meter, which he built really well thanks to double BE shenanigans, so it kind of worked out.

It’s a pretty good game that doesn’t get enough respect. Everyone too busy trying to win EVO at Marvel and Sf even though they know they would either get 0-2’d or 1-2’d.

Can we ever get a thread about a game with a bajillion revisions without it turning into, “It all went downhill after X version (because my character stopped being top tier),” like the SF4 boards? I’m a Bang player and I’m not even going to pretend CS1 is better than CS2. The game might not be the most legit fighter ever, but it gets better with every revision because ASW pays attention to complaints beyond, “This character is sooooooo cheap!” The developers actually put love and effort into the game (or they’re very convincing actors), and that’s a lot more than I can say about most modern games, regardless of genre.

this post is pretty raw

its anemone, he usually speaks random non sense

You are just asking that because some /v/-tards said it was bad right?

I think Blazblue is a good game, and I think it’s pretty fun. It just…doesn’t really seem to do anything that Guilty Gear doesn’t already do better. I know it’s different in the nitty gritty of the gameplay like how defense is supposedly favored and the neutral game is different. But, every time I start playing Blazblue for a week or two, I just can’t stop the nagging little thought from coming into my mind of “This game is fun and all, but…why am I playing it when I could be playing Guilty Gear?” And I just can’t answer that.

Hmm so your telling me that u favor fun over equality. In CT a good 5 of the 13 character cast was broken as all get out. Then CS1 comes along and kinda balances it out a bit more. Most of the top tiers went straight to the bottom IE Rachel & Lambda(not the very bottom). I suppose i feel what your saying that its job is to be fun. But if your looking at it from a developers point of view his job is to insure everyone who buys his game will have an equal chance to have this same "fun."
If your character is shit and your fighting a character who is gdlk IE CS1 Rachel vs Bang. Rachel had almost no chance of winning, now im 100% sure now that she was buffed and he was nerfed that its less fun for the bang player & more fun for the rachel player. Having a game that expresses that equality(Balanced) gives everyone a chance to win because face it people will always have more fun winning then losing.

Im not understanding what you mean, do you mean it doesnt not have a runback factor (Ultra/X-Factor/Rage) like how other fighters do or do you mean more along the lines of a punish type of thing. Because in blazblue the more ‘priority’(Invincibility, damage, range) a move has the larger the recovery insuring that you have optimal time to ‘legitly punish’ anything. But if you are talking about a runback factor then yes i agree BB does not have anything like that, and niether has GG. I do not believe arks will ever put such a tool in there game because that takes away at one of the most important things in a fighting game and that is skill.
To many times have i played street fighter and dominated the entire fight but i got hit with a single jump in attack, crossup jumpin, or focus then ate a Ultra that nearly killed me. That is not skill, a game should never reward you for “Getting your ass kicked” if you fail to have the skill to defeat your opponent then i suggest you go to training mode and brush u on your tactics, because obviously your not doing something right. The same goes for marvels X-factor, & Tekkens Rage mode. I personally disagree with all 3.

This is an example of a tru run back factor @ 4:20

Regardless of it being a GG/BB website, that doesn’t mean the automatically love Blazblue, infact, a lot of people there hated the first two versions of it. But when CS2 arrived, people started appreciating it because how it was now a nice balanced competitive fighter that fixed many of the problems in the earlier revisions had.

If you are looking for a deep fighting game with solid, balanced gameplay with NO comeback mechanics, then CS2 is a game to consider. Continuum Shift Extend is also on its way to consoles if you want to wait for that.

If you get hit by an Ultra, it means that your skill is weak, you need to brush up on your tactics and trying to blame it on anything else is a scrub mentality.
