If a post didn’t indicate the poster themselves as “smart,” why, I wouldn’t know who to believe.
Really? I always felt CS1 was just as dumb and broke as CT but somehow alot less fun.
CS2 (the current american build), is really, really solid all around.
When people talk about wanting good netcode like SSFIV:AE they are mistaken. The gold standard has always been BlazBlue’s netcode. When people talk about Capcom’s shitty mission modes and how they should be improved they are actually talking about BlazBlue’s mission mode. When people bitch about good balancing mechanics that need restraint like XF they secretly want limited comeback tools like burst or counter assault(basically a universal DP so everyone can Ken it up). When people complain that the game is being inundated by Shotos or teleporters and they complain about wanting unique characters… BlazBlue is there.
Basically… BlazBlue is at least a good game and something that most people would buy if it just featured their favorite shotos. This is not a dig at Street Fighter because BlazBlue is lacking in some ways itself(surprisingly) like any other game. My point is that the game does a lot of what people want… it just doesn’t have the characters that some people NEED in order to pick the game up and that is a shame.
I felt the same way with CS2 vs CS1.
CS2 is kinda gay, CS while unbalanced, was a lot more like Vanilla Marvel, with a LOT of broken characters, all viable as fuck.
shrug
I did get bored of CS2 really fast, but that’s a combination of there being other games, and the fact that I think it’s really time for BB3, not another CS2.
Well its not a bad game at all, but the real question is…can it get boring fast? Which acceptable answers are kinda and yes.
Remember when I said I got bored of it fast, I’d been playing BB since CT launched… so like 3 years of BB.
I think the series went downhill since CT I mean CS isn’t that bad, it is alot better than CS2 but while CT is a broken mess it is a very keyword FUN broken mess.
Wish that was true for us people who stuck with CS1 Wheelchair Rachel and CS1 Noel. :shake:
Tager says you guys are lucky fucks… It’s been 3 games and he’s always been in the T tier.
Yeah, but I only like broken fighters. That’s why I play Marvel, and prefer MvC3 over Ultimate. I really really enjoyed CS1.
And as I told you before, my style of Mu-12 was destroyed in CS2. Won’t ever forgive Arcsys for that.
I kind of preferred Rachel and Nu bitchslapping everything in CT to Bang and Litchi in CS, but that’s just because they’re moe.
It’s mostly a good game, but there a handful of system and cast wide choices that can make it get dull. Good game but not Good Game ™ good aside from Guilty Gear.
For me Blazblue felt obtuse. For a game of its styles, it felt slow, the hitstun decay always felt uneven, grabs aren’t just useless they destroy the pace of a match, and I don’t really feel weight with a lot of characters.
Tiers don’t really matter as much as the matchup and the Tager matchup was a bitch for us Noel players back in CS1 since her normals and pressure just plain sucked and using Drive on Tager was out of the question. Hell, Tager’s still one of Noel’s worst matchups if not THE worst matchup for her, even in CS2 and perhaps CSEX.
Mostly this for me too. I was waiting for CS2 knowing that my main man Bang was going to recieve nerfs(understandably). When I downloaded the update he just didn’t feel anywhere near as fun as he used to be and the Mahvel 3 fever was at it’s very peak. I’ve been waiting for BB3 myself, not CS2.
I’ll still try it if Bang is improved somewhat(he looked fun in the Dora footage).
A bitch for you yes, but even in CS1 where Noel was at her worst, it was even (5-5).
And before you say otherwise, that not just my assessment, that’s the pro assessment.
Tager has only ever had one favorable matchup in all of BB history.
I guess you’re right.
But fighting against Tager always makes me cry and everytime I win, I feel the happiness that men on Maury feel when they learn that they’re not the father x 100, it’s that much of an achievement for us, at least for me. =P
It’s because he forces Noel to use different tactics, that’s aggrivating. it’s how I feel about my Mu vs Bang matchup (CS2), it’s only slightly in Bangs favor, but I hate it.
Back to the original question, is BB a good game. Yes. It is a very good fighting game. The Fighting Engine is very solid, the characters are expertly designed, and the feature set is something that other fighters are still playing catchup to.
from a technical viewpoint it is a solid game, but when i tried to play it seriously it wasn’t very fun at all, win or lose. titanium beast kinda put my opinion in words on some thread in dloop, where he says that everything arcsys is doing usually makes sense but how bb basically favors defense over offense lends a feeling of impermanence to the game where it just gets boring after a little while.
BB is my main fighting game and I enjoy it as well, despite me being a Guilty Gear fan first and waiting for an eventual GGHD, but if I can say one thing that kind of turns me off, it’s how there’s too much neutral game and how it can cause matches to go slow at times but you get accustomed to it.
