I love playing people that hate Bison I feel like I get mental edge just at the character select screen.

I main Rog, but I actually like Bison a lot, and use him to switch it up every once in a while. He’s also one of my favorite match-ups with Balrog- usually leads to some pretty epic battles.
people give me hate cause they think i use turbo cause i can somehow almost consistently get my c.lk links. i tell them to look at the replay of the match cause all you will see are “naked” c.lks, no plinking, no double tapping, nada. i actually think it’s weird that i can do this both online and offline (because differences in timing because of lag and such)
Well, in consistent lag the timing isn’t going to change. So even in 10f of lag, if you’re hitting c.LK at the “offline” timing you’ll still get c.LKx3 … just 10f later. You just have to autopilot it and not get thrown off by the input delay.
Bison… annoying since he is always jumping and his special kick cannot be punshed most of the time… free chip damage for him
Vega… annoying since he is always jumping and when I avoid his air attacks by focus attack, I cannot punish him either (or I just don’t know how))
Guile… annoying since EVERY FU**ING guile plays in the same way… flipchart guile matches are very boring, they always turtle and throw fireballs
El Fuerte… annoying cause of splash or tortilla spamming
I love to play vs yang and yun instead, it’s just not that boring.
You havent a clue of what you speak of.
To be blunt, people who say Bison is “easy mode,” “entry level” ect are remarkably ignorant, and they are the ones who are “entry level” because when you play high level players, Bison’s options get reduced significantly. Examples are you can’t just throw out light sk all day, they will bait that with a neutral jump and blow you the F up on the way down. They can also focus the 2nd hit and crumble you if you are also careless. Same if you spam stand heavy kick all day. Bison does less damage against nearly all of the cast so you will have to be making more, better reads and making less mistakes as he has poor comeback factor with little options to set up ultra. Blocked ex psycho will get blown the hell up when blocked by MANY characters, so it isn’t a “get out of jail for free card.” Couple this with Bison has no overhead/ speakable mix up game means it might boil down to being patient, chipping and taking it to footsies.
tl;dr
if you hate Bison and think he’s a no-brain character- you need to step your game up.
anyone who says any character is a “no-brain character” should be ignored. probably banned. I don’t run srk though. some tactics can be relatively “brainless” tactics, but they are destined to fail unless the person losing to them is using brainless tactics as well.

I don’t get why this is controversial. I didn’t say anything about high level play. If you remove high level concepts like intricate matchup knowledge, zoning, spacing, safe jumps, frame advantage, etc. and you pit average to low level players against one another, the game is reduced to ‘whoever can mash out the most damaging combos, specials and ultras wins’.
It’s no secret that a large amount of these types of players flock to certain characters.
You guys can’t be seriously contesting that some characters are easier to begin and win with at low to mid level play.
People hate bison because like so many things, St. Hk is/was so abusable.
I remember when 4 first came out and using Abel, he could hit me with that same move if I was close/far/sweeping/jumping. So you had someone that could press one button and accomplish EVERYTHING, versus ppl that have to very specific with the shit they do.

if it sounds like i’m being elitist, i’m not. the place you want to take this discussion has no place here. what characters do newbies flock to, or who wins if 2 people dont know what they’re doing go at it is a complete and utter tossup. there’s no objective way to discuss that except for anecdotal evidence. theres too many variables. newbie a plays BISON because his buttons are good, and he beats all of the other newbie ryus and akumas because they dont know shit. then he loses to a zangief because he keeps running into lariats. does this mean zangief is a better character for newbies to pick if they wanna get wins against others? who knows what the fuck it means, because without matchup knowledge, “zoning spacing safejumps and frame advantage” the winner will usually be the one who doesnt fall for the same shit over and over instead of something concrete

st.hk has been watered down fairly consistently with each version I don’t count the 2012 update as a buff, a buff would be 110 across the entire limb. What more do these jokers want?
