idk, the JP are breaking down the FANG matchup piece by piece. A lot of SF’s pressure game didn’t work because they knew how to deal with the st.hk pressure game. I think he’ll hit a giant JP brickwall until FANG gets buffed.
He’s well known for having a large staple of characters. I assume he’ll branch out to solve matchups pretty soon. I wasn’t kidding about the summer thing. He’s in highschool, being out of school is big for his practice regime.
he deffenetly should not stick to fang.
as you could see, tokido knew the matchup and all the gimmicky stuff didnt worked on him like it did on others.
There were 900+ US players at this tournament…and maybe 10-15 international players (Japan, Korea, China, Singapore). While some of them did lose to US players, which is expected at some point, some of them also only lost to each other. Kazunoko in the tournament lost to Tokido twice. Bonchan lost to Mago and Fuudo (though I admit Bonchan’s Ryu isn’t on the level of Tokido’s).
Anyway I also don’t blame SonicFox for anything…in fact he rose to the occasion.
Its funny that Emil posted this. But he has a point. Americans typically don’t value analytical people and disregard it as theory fighter until an international puts it to use.
I know so many people who would rather play casuals than study a matchup. Studying has more value once you reach a certain point but these people never learn.
I think the top US players are able to be as good as the Japanese or other Asian countries, but are held back by the fact that the rest of us are free.
I mean, I’d suck either way, but I’d never be able to find all this time that I hear top players putting into things. I think I’ve played 30 ranked games total since SF5 release because…shit, I’m just busy. It’s no wonder top players can remain top players if it’s already their job to be playing.
