Is America done in SF5?

Apparently Tokido told SonicFox they had run a Topanga just on beating FANG. That’s 3-4 top players sharing tech and experimenting with a single match-up. No wonder Tokido ran through SonicFox free whereas everybody else who faced him struggled. Do US players have the discipline to get together like that and work over a single problem for many hours? I don’t get a feeling they do.

I’m pretty sure the US will be fine.

Let’s watch the next tourney this weekend at NCR =). Might be pretty similar, but the nature of SF5 says there’ll be some surprises.

We let SonicFox, an MK player, in to top 8.

We suck.

Do you guys just think maybe Diago and his stream crew just happen to be godlike players? Not all Japanese players are equal

You conveniently forget to mention Kazu and rekitsu specifically Getting completely dominated by Justin in the team tournament earlier that night in grand finals.

Dude even took off his surgeon mask he was being outplayed that badly lol

What about those japanese players that let him into top 8? Hell top 9-16 is all US other than Kazunoko. US did very well this tournament.

  1. EG|Justin Wong (Karin)
  2. FlashMetroid (Vega)
  3. Liquid|NuckleDu (Nash)
  4. GGP|Kazunoko (Cammy)
  5. RB|Snake Eyez (Zangief)
  6. PH|Crackfiend (Chun-Li)
  7. Julio (Ken)
  8. PG|Filipino Champ (Dhalsim)

At least America will always have Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct.

And maybe Dead Or Alive?

I was waiting for someone to say this LOL. That was everybody’s fault really. Not even the asians can stop the young man’s drive.

I also blame story mode. If the game was more complete at launch we’d have more randoms cracking out tech to beat the asians.

I hope Go1-3151 wins NCR. I also want Nuckledu to win.

I blame people not reading my post 2 posts above…

Consider the following…

-Americans lost because of bad story mode/no arcade mode.

-Capcom is a Japanese game company.

-Capcom chose to release a half-baked game.

-Therefore, the Japanese chose to release a half-baked game that put the USA at a disadvantage.

Gllty blew me a kiss at final round and I almost threw up while everyone was oohing and aahing when he beat some scrub on the big screen with Dhalsim with repeated teleport crossups, but hey.

Then some SJW came over and said “Gllty is a she!” after some dude yelled out “It’s a TRAP!” which actually made me laugh.

Gllty’s Dhalsim is really good though, you can’t deny that. Very strong play. I played him in some casuals on the side on friday before the tourney and he beat me several times.

He won’t, he’s Canadian

Too early to tell. I was actually impressed with that Ken player. I forgot his name but he got blown up when he met up with Hiatani’s Necalli. Before that he was making Ken look great!

Brenttiscool

Yea thats him, I enjoy watching his Ken!

Brenttiscool , that guy played Rufus in SF4

Wonder if he gunna stick with Ken if his boy Rufus shows up in future

I don’t know if we look at the past the US has always been behind Japan but I think players like Snake Eyes, PR Rog and Maybe Filipino Champ have a shot at winning.

I want to see more of Tokido’s Ryu. It’s so cool. I’m looking to ditch Mika and play someone new and he plays the way I’d like to play Ryu, with very little zoning and very aggressive. I know he lost in the Finals but he played so clean. It was a real pleasure to watch, it was like a tutorial on how to use Ryu.

America is not done.

It just looked like Asia spent more time in training mode than Murica.
