NOTE: Ingrid is not canon, same goes for Sawada and other characters outside of the main series.
[] It was ill-received by the audience because of his weird design.
[] Broken gameplay (a lot of vortex so far and some hits because of his weird hitbox).
[] Retarded personality.
[] Terrible “story”, doesn’t connect to anything and has no background.
So far, it looks like yes.
**Dan **might have the worst gameplay but his personality and story are fine, and at least it’s a fun parody.
**Rufus **and El Fuerte were badly received because of their designs and personality, but their gameplay wasn’t half-bad.
And in the beginning I thought **Hakan **was going to be a disgrace (mainly because of his over-the-top reveal trailer) but in personality it never reached the abysmal depths of Abigal, and it least he represents an actual martial art.
So far, I can’t find anything to truly defend Abigal, other than his gameplay is somewhat original and inventive (but the concept itself of the mega giant seems to be not working for this game), that “he’s from Final Fight” (like that instantly made him a good character) and in personality/design the fact that he’s “different” (but different doesn’t mean good).
Abigail is the best character to come out of SF in years, sorry he isn’t some waifu jerkoff bait or something, but some of us like fun characters with personality.
Do I really have to argument in a thread which subject is “I want to let you know that I find Abigail terrible so I’ll slap in the word ‘objectively’ to give myself some authority”?
If you want my take, Abigail is a fun character with fun gameplay, animations and personality. He might be dumb, but at least he’s not dumb AND irritating like Rufus or El Fuerte.
I think no character has as many weak points as Abigail’s been put together, though. Terrible audience reception, questionable fitting into the game, barebones story…
That what you can hit doesn’t correspond with the graphics of the games. That means some attacks can pass right through him. That’s weird to say the least, a very questionable decision in design.
They could have been a little more clever with that if they wanted to introduce a gigantic character in the game, instead of just saying “nah, the hitbox won’t be a problem, you simply can’t hit him in the head and everything’s cool”.
Nah, I think Joe (aka, generic white male) gets the title.
If we get into playable characters territory there are worse choices, and I don’t think Hakan, Rufus or even El Fuerte are among them.
And keep Dan away from the “worst” list! He’s awesome.
