It’s already showing here in the Philippines. I’m going to watch it later on… however from what the rest of my friends who already watched it, they say it’s a bit disappointing… then again, only 2 of my friends had negs on it and they’re all “it’s not like in the comic” so that’s unreliable.
I don’t know if i should post a review later since I heard it’s not yet showing in the US.
Why is it that people want a direct translation from print to screen when it comes to adaptations. Makes my head hurt. Acknowledge the source material while at the same time making it fresh. If you were going to watch the same thing you read, then why go see it?
[details=Spoiler]
no fully functional ironman suit throughout the whole movie.
Not one action scene featuring iron man until the last 5 minutes.
The mid point iron man goes skydiving interval was cringeworthy.
Wy does the iron man suit now look overweight?
Ben Kingsley and the kid were great.
Dialogue was pretty good.
And as a descendant of Genghis Khan he could look like anything. That man fucked sooooooooooooooooooooo many women. He was a fucking machine. No pun intended.
Also, if there were any good asian actors that spoke English, you’d see a shitload more of them. Unfortunately asians in America don’t become actors, they become dentists, doctors, and dry cleaners.
I just came back from the theaters and i thought the movie was awesome. I enjoyed it better than the 1st 2 but the gap wasnt as big. It was a great movie no doubt. Make sure to stick around for the after credits…
Never understood why either. I honestly don’t know what the hell my 2 friends were smoking with the “it’s not like in the comic”… i didn’t see a strong fade away from the comics; it was just it’s own.
I guess the only thing that bothered me was, given the events of IM2 and the Avengers, Stark could have called SHIELD for help and the whole thing could have been over a lot earlier/easier. lol
The ending does kinda do away with a few things from the first two IM movies too.
I pointed that out in a previous post. I don’t like him as the Mandarin and his voice in the trailers sounded hilarious at best. Like I said he’s a good actor so we will see what he brings to the table.
Also when I say Asian I mean not “South Asian” but yeah having Mongol ancestry grants some leniency.
There are tons of great Asian actors who are fluent in English, but as you know like any other industry a lot depends on who you know.
