@ Renegade: You don’t need an OTG assist to lift someone off the ground with Tron. You can just use Tron’s 2H > 6H to pick the opponent off the ground, leave them in enough stun to call out an assist and use her 236H. I usually do 5L > 2M > 5H > H.Drill > S > j.M x 2 > j.H > j.S > 2H > 6H > Chun Assist > 236H > j.H > j.S > 5H > H.Drill xx Lunch Rush - 740K - 760K. If you’re mid screen, you just add a dash before doing the 2H.
Haggars lariat assist works wonders with her otg, a surprisingly large amount of assists actually work with it, I originally thought it would be a lot worse, but yeah, Clakey D made my tron like 10x better.
At what points do hits in a combo start decreasing the hitstun?
I know the first point is 7… Is it in the SRK wiki?
While we’re discussing lariats and Gustaff Fires… how does Tron’s flamethrower assist compare to Haggar’s lariat assist? Do we have any solid info on this? One of the major reasons I keep looking at Haggar on my team is I know his lariat is fully invulnerable even as an assist, but how well does the flamethrower stack up against that?
They are very comparable.
However, tron is interruptible on startup while haggar is not.
Tron is much more effective against short characters, and leads into ground chain, while haggar yields only launchers or air loops.
Haggar stuffs hypers and also puts a serious hurting on Dark Force hsien Ko.
PROTIP: against sent, jump B instant Overheads him! You can combo this into jump S for a floor bounce into combo!
Even better, jump B combos after a jump canceled flamethrower!
Shenanigans!
My combo of choice on a crouching Sentinel off instant jump M; j., j.:s:, cr.
, f+:m:, j.MMH, cr.
,:s:, j.MMHS. I don’t know if I can tack on a Drill or something there to optimize the damage, but I’m happy with the combo. It wall carries nicely and isn’t very difficult.
Soo, I take it, that people already know 236x servobt resets like old Marvel (they just fall straight down, they don’t get air tech options)?
bbq sauce: No, that’s news to me. Where can I read up on this? Anything I should bear in mind for how it transferred to MvC3 compared to how it worked in MvC2?
Zap through the MvC3 match videos on this channel: YouTube - SMOAI2010’s Channel. Some japanese guys messing around in a tournament and there’s a Tron Bone player. While most of the matches are nothing to write home about (you can easily tell most people have no idea how the game works lol) the Tron player was pretty good lol he made Drill look godlike since apparently nobody knows you can punish it.
Cool, does that mean that its possible to time a level 3 to grab them when they land?
Well, you know, they can still get off a quick attack, so I don’t think it’ll work out that easily.
you can get king kobun lunch rush off of anything no assist.
just do the appropriate number of (6b j.b j.b j.c) into 6b j.c j.e qcf L king kobun, either hp, or hp drill (cancel before it ends) into lunch rush.
It also instant overheads against normal sized characters such as Ryu.
I was watching some videos today, I think it was in those Japanese ones and noticed or I think I saw King Kobun come out even through tron got hit during it?
Is it true?
after the small kobun fully activates its unstoppable. can attack assists with it if you predict and have a dhc or x factor too keep tron safe.
I was messing around with this a few days ago, it’s probably one of the most effective resets in the game right now, particularly against Sentinel. If your combo carries to the corner, end it with 236H (easiest way is with an OTG assist of course). After he falls out, right when he touches the ground do an instant overhead j.M, j. S. My combo of choice here is: S, j.MMH, land, j.MMH, S, j.MMHS, (OTG assist) QCF+H, King Servbot, s.H xx Lunch Rush. Does a shade over 900 000 for only 2 bars.
I’m really having trouble timing the assist for 2C into 6C to work as an OTG. Is that the only way Tron can OTG without an OTG assist?
Tron will be my main character for all my teams. Her j.C to hit conform combo is so good.
If you have chun li or haggar, press the assist and 2c at the same time. Forget about boulder (thanks stevenstevenson). and link the :l: beacon bomb. Haggars is pretty easy to link, chun li’s lasts longer and requires some timing after.
It also works with doom molecular shield in the corner, if not in the corner (say after throw), call doom first then immediately 3c and link :l: beacon bomb.
With this, you can actually do a 1,500,000+ combo with just the assist, xfc and 1 meter initially.
Dayum! Thats a lot of damage. Thanks for the info, back to the lab i go!
EDIT: Chuns legs did the trick, the timing is A LOT easier than the assist + 2C 6C.
