If you get a landed IAD j.H into whatever, and setup in the corner with Doom missiles, timed right, then the opponent will be forced to block getting up. While missiles are coming down, you can either go for the LV3 or continue block strings.
Anyone find a way to beat Tron’s Gustaf Flame assist?
So far this seems like one of the best assists in the game, it’s crazy invincible and can be used to pin down or keep away really well. Low attacks can’t stuff it, and it stuffs most hypers too.
The only real “counter” I’ve seen is Zeros command dash that goes up and over it and hits as a cross up, although any other character can’t do that on reaction since the assist is so fast.
Even constantly hitting moves like Chris’ <-+H Flamethrower don’t do anything to it. and it can nullify some weaker projectiles too.
You have to cancel the st.m into Gustaff Fire on the first hit so that the combo prorate system doesn’t kick in quickly, and as low to the ground as possible so the final j.H isn’t aligned above the training dummy.
What do you guys think about Tron’s mixup game with her command throw? I don’t have a low hitting assist on my team, and I don’t really want one atm. She’s my second char, so my gameplan doesn’t revolve around her, just her assist.
So basically I plan to use her with sent drones, and sometimes wolverine barrage. Basically I’ve found you can pressure with strings like L > M > f. M ^ jump H and tick to throw with L > command throw. There’s not much I can follow up her command throw with personally except more pressure with sent drones after, but her command throw itself does ok damage.
Also her drills are at least -4 or -5 on block, and pretty much all of her normals are unsafe, except L and f. H and maybe some others. What’s her gameplan? Like one on one, not with assists? I know jummp H is pretty much her gameplan lol.
Well, you know, if I said, then I wouldn’t be able to iad jump in the whole match.
Try putting Wolverine cr.a on record and jump in with tron j.C. You’ll get stuffed clean trying to cross him up. The answer is to switch up your jump in.
I don’t know if I am the first to find this, but I think I might have just found an infinite with Tron (No not the drill one) other people should probably test this, I’ve been working trying to do it for a while now. I ain’t so great with input directions but here.
LMHS > MMS > DownH > Boulder + Doom plasma beam assist > S > MHS And then repeat step 3+
It doesn’t have to start with LMHS, that’s just what I’ve used for it.
Edit: I was only able to keep it going once, it’s really hard to do, and in case anyone is wondering, I was practicing this on Dante. Also try it with different assists and stuff, I didn’t go through a whole lot of lengths towards this.
Usually the Down H doesn’t cancel into boulder at one point in a combo because the hit stun doesn’t last long enough. But I’ll try it. I know for sure, :d: + :h:, :f: + :h: doesn’t even work on zero at all because he techs the ground before boulder comes out.
Tron’s :d: + :h: as an OTG isn’t exactly the best, that’s why most people op for an OTG assist because she can combo people into the corner already with any combo involving drill.

Sorry if this is known already (tried searching for ‘tiger’, couldn’t search for ‘tk’) but you can cancel Gustaff Fire into a TK’ed drill. I was messing with some s.H, Drill, cr.L, s.M, 6M xx TK Drill, cr.M, 6M, etc. combos earlier but I couldn’t find anything special before I had to stop. It looks like a good loop won’t be possible (opponent gets knocked up too high at some point, for example) but I’m not sure. I won’t be able to play with this for a while again, maybe someone else will have better luck with this.
Also, does anyone know how Tron can combo into King Kobun? The only suggestion I found was from j.S, s.H, KK from this post but I couldn’t get it to combo.
I dunno if this will help with the loop but you dont really need to use to boulder to extend a combo. I combo OTG into hyper just using 2H and an assist.
if you have the right assist you can do it from OTG as above. its one of Tron’s missions (might be Lunch Rush but it works for either hyper).
The combination of the discovery of Gustaff Fire assist as well as Clakey D’s crazy combos got me on the Tron bandwagon for sure.
Team I’m using Mag-A, Tron-B, Sent-Y (rocket punch).
Tron needs an OTG assist to get those awesome Servbot capture combos. I’m basically doing, J.C, launch on hit, B,B,C,E, land, call sent, Servbot hold, jump E (causes floor bounce), C xx lunch rush.
Does like 650.
And lunch rush DHC’s and XFC combos are way too fun.
