Don’t know why I didn’t show it in either of my previous videos but in this one is shows off how Iron Fist is really good for late extensions in Dormammu’s combos:

Nice, you’d probably get more damage if you used stronger Rekkas though.
I came across this in my travels. Some fun assist and THC shenanigans.

Hey guys, been workin on my Iron Fist since day 1 and recently started trying my hand at the local ranbats in my area with my team of Iron Fist, Spencer, and Chris. I feel like this team has great synergy no matter which order you play it but of course Iron Fist on point is lovely to watch and is just plain fun to play. I feel like I have a lot of good tech with these characters but I just make bad decisions often. Anyway the tourney starts at about 3:30, plz check it out and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
First of all: Good shit. The only suggestion for when Iron Fist is on point is use the wall jump. It’s a really useful tool to get out of zoning and pressure situations. I would say you should use blue chi when outside of combos, but you seem to place greater importance on meter building (it was interesting to see how much meter his moves build on block with that chi activated) and it worked out really well for you, so I can’t fault you there.
Everything else I have to say really just comes down to preference of philosophy and play style. So your strategy seems to be build as much meter and do as much damage as possible with Iron Fist and then start switching between him and Spencer and turn every touch into death. Now, let it be known that I think every single player should eschew the whole “point/assist/anchor” bullshit and do something more like this. That said, I think you should do two things: Switch your order to Chris-Iron Fist-Spencer and switch Chris’ assist to landmine. I think rising fang assist is simply too good to pass up and I’m sure you already know about all of their wonderful DHC synergy. Since Spencer is least dependent on assists for getting hits, I think he should go last. As for the landmine assist, you make good use of machine gun with spencer, but when Iron Fist is out, machine gun never hits a goddamn thing (it never does for me either). Landmine cuts down considerably on the number of mixups IF has to take, it’s a great benefit for his combos and it does help his pressure game (when you get pushblocked, call assist as you dash in and chris will lay a mine right behind you covering your back). Lastly, Iron Fist does best with the life lead. He’s easy to lame out and if you kill the first character with chris, tag Iron Fist in, pressure and mixup on incoming, and if they get out, they still have to come to you and respect the landmine. With spencer in the back, Chris and Iron Fist get to benefit from his assist and if everything goes horribly wrong, you could do a lot worst than level 3 xfactor Spencer.
That’s my take. Sorry it ended up being so long.
Hey Heroic, saw a bit of your gameplay the otherday and I was pretty impressed. I also run IF/Spencer so I saw a lot of similarities with our teams. Only thing I can say is I have to agree on Chris gun assist kinda sucks and Chris anchor is neither here nor there in efficiency. I like Chris being point because of his amazing damaging combos and with your composition, you can make it work. I also like landmine assist because you can use that in combos and I’m pretty sure you can use it to maximize UVGs for Spencer. That said, IF needs a lock down assist to be effective and Spencer doesn’t have any. Soooo switching up team orders could mess up with synergy. It’s tough to say but definitely play around with Chris assist.
Holy shit that was pure swag, IF is the best
Thank you for this. During these past few months I’ve been working on a different team order and now I run Chris, Iron Fist, Spencer thanks to you. Honestly the only reason why I ran Chris on anchor was because he is my favorite character lol. I know now that that doesnt necessarily factor in to good decision making and Spencer has definitely helped me make many more comebacks. I did try running Iron Fist on point with the landmine at some point but I just love that machine gun assist too damn much. Chris with assists is so much fun to play though. Multiple flamethrowers just feels so good lol.
To keep this relevant, I’ve been using j.L, j.M lately to open people up with Iron Fist on a jump-in. Nobody expects Iron Fist to jump in with two attacks lol
Hey guys, I’m kind of new to the forum, but I recently ran some sets with my good friend EvilToaster and was hoping for some feedback. I’m not new to Iron Fist by any means but I was hoping you guys could maybe offer some ideas for improving my game that I hadn’t thought of yet. If not, enjoy some grueling sets.

I don’t really have much to say other than swap Spencer with Hawkeye. You played good but the key problem (Aside from Toaster having a better team) is that have Iron Fist with only one neutral assist (Close range at that) and no safe DHC. A few times out of what I’ve watched so far you’ve used Iron Rage, and had to XFactor or let Iron Fist die because you can’t get Spencer in safely.
Utilizing backwards wave dashing will also help your neutral game so you can avoid Zero’s BS.
I don’t know if you know, but in your bnb after the wall bounce when you do cr.l, b+h, Dragon Tail, Dragon Touch. You should replace Dragon Touch with Surging Fist.
I used to use Hawkeye on my team instead of Akuma, but I found that his arrows didn’t put people in block stun long enough for my liking (hence the switch to Akuma). Akuma’s Tatsu may not have as much range but I’ve never had an insanely hard time getting close enough to make use of it, and having both Tatsu and Arrows strikes me as a little redundant. If I were to switch Spencer out for someone else I’d probably go for Magneto, but I like the incoming mix up shenanigans and combo extensions that Spencer’s grapple allows. My neutral game is admittedly kind of limited though, so I’ll keep the possibility in mind.
I’m aware that Surging Fist does more damage (you can even go into Wall of K’un-Lun after and continue the combo anyways), I do Dragon Touch for consistency’s sake.
How exactly are you supposed to execute backwards wave dashes? I always seem to fuck up my inputs when I try.
Hawkeye’s arrows are not meant to put the opponent in block stun, that’s what Akuma is for. Their use is mainly to give Iron Fist a quick ranged option to help him get in which he also happens to be get a combo from if it hits. Hawkeye provides a safe DHC so you don’t have to keep running unnecessary risks and using XFactor early to stop a character from dying because you can’t get your second character in safely. Hawkeye gives Iron Fist combo extensions and he also happens to be able to fight a lot of Iron Fist’s bad matchups. He is a straight up better pick for the Iron Fist/Akuma shell than Spencer is, especially considering Iron Fist’s assist does not benefit Spencer because it cuts down his combos. Iron Fist cannot work with one neutral assist, he is too limited.
Backwards wavedashings is done like this.

Some variations on much of what we already know and nothing enormously revolutionary but it’s useful to have it all in one place.
