Yo, don’t be trying to AA Ken’s tatsu it’s not worth it especially if he has a meter to tag cancel. It could mean half of your life bar. Just block it. That shit is so dumb.

Make sure its the close standing HP lol you dont really need to be that close… but you know what i mean

@Veggey: PPP Lariat Trade is actually not a bad idea. Interesting thought.
I also think anti-airing a crossup tatsu with PPP is not too hard. Happens to me quite often. I also anti-air a lot of the normal ones. Don’t really have a lot of problems wih them.
I think I eat more damage if I try to block, because…well because I’m a moron :slight_smile:

I dunno if anyone else is running a vega team or not, but if you tag in off a walldive claw attack then you can either do gief’s tag in bnb on hit, or they’re in enough hitstun that you can either go for SPD, tick setups or a crossup totally safely. It’s really filthy stuff.

Why go for the SPD? :stuck_out_tongue: the bnb is more dmg, the spd can be jumped out of.

if your getting a combo going, go for the sure damage.
I agree with Veggey here

But it could be applicable if jt’s on block. One of my friends plays Vega. Scarlet Terror is really nice to tag. You can tag, go, make coffee, come back and finish the combo :slight_smile:
I love the corner Vega combo into ST - Tag - Gief MP-MP-MP-PPP - Tag…etc. Not very damaging but quite stylish :wink:

Sorry, I wasn’t clear there, on hit you do gief’s bnb obviously, since the claw attack will juggle them on hit, but on block it’s safe to tag in and I think you might even be at advantage since I’ve not been hit out of startup yet. I’ve had a lot of success coming in and hitting an SPD on block, since often as not people are concentrating mostly on trying to punish the walldive or which way to block it, they don’t often seem to think to jump out of the spd. There’s a ton of potential mixups from a blocked walldive which you tag cancel, basically.

I’ve only been messing with this team for 3 or 4 days so not really fully explored what they can do together.

For OKI there are some setups:

after a tag in or corner combo do s.mp s.mp s.mp XX hard ban-flats then hold upforward(safe jump vs.5frames and super ambigious, cant be srked by RYU or KEN because of position) if they do not quickrise, they cant roll out of the corner, if you jump immediatly after landing its still safejump vs. 5framers, but not vs. Ryu / Ken.

I was playing around with links into launcher after reading an interesting thread. Surprising what damage you get out of it and hardly any Gief uses it.
With my usual punish into launcher (s.MP - s.HK - Launch) and Kaz coming in I get e.g. 505 Dmg with 2 Meter (cr.MP-cr.HP-Super).
With a s.HP linked into st.MP-s. HK- Launch into the same i get 559 Dmg. Really don’t know why I’ve never used it. Stupid old habit…

Yeah Gief’s Damage off of that is so sick even for no meter (most teams can get 500 meterless, Ryu can get 560 corner for 1 meter lol). It’s a 1 frame link if I remember correctly though

I was thinking a bit about the inputs I’m getting used to and if it does make sense what I’m doing.
That might sound a bit daft, but how are you guys doing the SPD from crouching? E.g. Pressured with jab, crouch blocking. I usually go back to neutral and then do the motion. I’m obviously vulnerable for a brief moment…
Is anyone doing it differently, for example starting downback, then doing the motion upwards?

Just go from 1 to 8. it’s one extra up input you have to hit in your prejump frames, but if you have played ST or 3S you should feel pretty at home with it.

Thanks, Im quite happy with SFIV, but not with SFXT. The tour was mine, ive never played so bad as I did in that top 8. I have no idea why :stuck_out_tongue: But thanks anyway ^^ I had even been sandbagging everyone in casuals and playing even, by not doing any mixups or advanced tactics. Just to make sure id win. Then I go in and choke itu p playing like some… Well I dunno, Its an expirience I guess. To keep focused. NEXT TIME!

What do you guys use for a meterless punish combo? Do you just go into the abc combo all the way or end it with a cr.hk? Thats what I’ve been doing when my partner is low on health and I have no bars, but was wondering if there was anything better : /
