That’ll be 50 bucks not 10. You can send that to Haunts since he had to cover the missing 209 money.
that doesnt make sense to me if the 209 couldnt enter why would there be “missing 209 money”
its not my fault 2 ppl flaked like marks at the last sec when punishere was bouta swoop me from my pad
I dont understand where everyone gets that i stole money or cashed out from our dead ass qualifiers. There was only 5 people that showed up and 2 flaked on us at the very last moment possible, so i split the money with the top 3 people that got the most wins which was punishere, morgan and me, then i paid off the venue fee. Ask any of the 5 people that i named on our team, they’ve posted here. I split 50 fucking dollars between those 3.
Why in the fuck would you pay “missing money” when we didnt even show up, what kind of fucking sense does that make?
I’m from the 209,Ill pay for the missing money.
Let’s see if we can make this simple and concise, since apparently the public school system in the 209 area code is a failure. That “50 fucking dollars” was not yours to split. It was to be added to the prize pot for splits between venue and the overall tournament winners. Same as everyone else’s qualifier money.
Hey glad you guys liked the spinach dip. Tournament was well ran, and Shadowbrooke is pretty cool. The abundance of office chairs and ample setups was  . Also congratulations SoCal! Larry with the reverse OCV made me sad but I’ll admit it was awesome. Also Peninsula a.k.a. Ryan… I’m pretty sure Magus was “THE TEAM” for this one.
Maybe I’m an idiot too… but I don’t understand why 209 is expected to pay money to a pot for a tournament they didn’t enter. There’s a lot about the situation I don’t know but that’s what it sounds like anyway. Also it’s obvious there is a misunderstanding so I don’t know why people are getting belligerent either. “I hope you catch cancer”? That’s a little uncalled for.
Both sides are uncalled for between the catch cancer comment and the comments made about the 209 also.
I thought it was obvious I was being a little sarcastic with the absurdity of being so extreme, i.e. hoping someone catches cancer over some Street Fighter shit. Here, I’ll be a bit more on the nose, then : that guy’s a window-licking idiot, the 209 team rep pocketed cash that was supposed to be part of a broader pot and ended up having to get paid out of someone else’s pocket anyhow, though that’s in addition to this “boi” talking to us “mothafockas”. Sorry, I won’t “fuck wit” the 209 in the future.
I think the regions were all granted enough autonomy when it came to running the quals that 209 figured if their entrance was cancelled they could deal with the money however they figued made sense. Reimbursing the people who entered quals (which sounds kinda like what he did) makes more sense to me than adding it to the pot for a tournament none of them attended. If reimbursement ISN’T what happened then yeah I agree it’s pretty sketch and unfair.
What’s more unfair though is someone (Haunts?) having to put that $50 from his own pocket into the pot for them. I’d have just said for the tournament’s sake fuck the $50 from 209 since they didn’t show up and just left the pot with the sum from teams that DID show up.
Also I’m just trying to make a point that you don’t need to make extreme jokes at people for small shit like this. What if this guy’s sister died of cancer yesterday? You don’t know. You sure as hell didn’t know my dad was dying from prostate cancer back in the day when we had KS2 streams and you guys popped cancer jokes every Friday. Maybe I should just grow thicker skin! Who knows! Point is, make fun of how the guy talks or whether he jacked money or not all you want, there’s no reason to get personal though… and jokingly or not, “get cancer” is personal.
Socal is not getting free money, they didnt earn that 50 dollars, or anyone else for that matter. Since my team didn’t even get a chance to compete due to 2 people and our alternates flaking, i simply split their own money back with the team so they can have a little compensation for not getting a chance to compete. I don’t get why that’s so hard to understand.
No one “pocketed” any cash and if you pay towards a pot for a team that was non-existent which makes absolutely no sense then you’ve murdered yourself.
My only objective was to try to get an area motivated and have a chance to compete at the highest level and people have turned it into you stole this and that, its ridiculous.
And that cancer stuff is totally uncalled for, its not funny.
I see what Kid is saying, Pretty much he ran the qualifiers ( sort of like a mini tourney ) and the payout was gathered and going towards BOTB entrance fee or whatever. Since his team flaked Why should he have to pay for a tourney he didn’t go to?
What about Pavo? I tried :’(
it sucks cause we counted on them to show, but now who cares lets move on.
Good Tournament!, I Watched The Whole Thing There, Some Good Fights. But For Being My First Tournament To Attend I Didnt Like To Hear Filipino Champ Insulting His Teammates By Saying They Suck And That He Was “The Team”. But Good shit Magus You Were Whooping Some Ass. Big Ups To North Bay They Did Great! Good Job All Teams! I Will Be Attending More and Be Competing First Time Soon
Super Shady Fighter IV. Stay classy, guys.
shoutouts to penninsula, anyone contributing a win is a FACTOR
i take back what i said about the 209, and mybad if i offended anyone when i used mothafuckas to refer to the 5 heads that went to the stockton quals incl me haha, i wasnt talkin about you dizz use your damn head
i was jus pissed yesterday cause i canceled a camping trip with my friends to play in the 5v5 but i shoulda known someone woulda flaked, whatever im done talking to yall
Third party 2 cents: rofl drama
Third party 2 cents for real: The lesson here is don’t create a situation where you need every region to show up** or else**. One region was bound to fuck up like this. It isn’t 209 or the Bay Area, it’s human nature in general.
I’m on the same wave length as SY. What I am not understanding is why the main event pot needs to be padded. Just saying, it sounds more like if 209 didn’t enter, then 209’s money wasn’t even in play. The end. That’s it. Was 209’s qualifier funded by BOTB organizers? Was the pot promised to be a specific number? From the peanut gallery’s view point, there is a missing chunk of information about this entire situation.
Not to fan the flames, just giving you my 4 cents.
Ok I didn’t enter this tournament and don’t know all the details but I have to speak on what I know.
This was battle of the bay. There was money in the qualifiers, and more money for the actual 5on5. SoCal came up and won this tournament, but what did they contribute? If they didn’t have a qualifier and aren’t part of the “bay” that we are battling for then what did they get paid and why? Basically for the purpose of “battle of the bay” North Bay won. They were the #1 team as far as battle of the bay goes. Bay area nor cal players paid for qualifiers, spectator fees, and the actual 5on5, so where did all this money go since SoCal came up and won it? If they had no money at stake for the qualifiers then why should they see any of that money, when the purpose of it was for a BATTLE OF THE BAY? How did best Bay Area team in the Battle of the Bay not receive their due $$$ when they came and outplayed all the other teams in the bay? If anything, SoCal should have been playing an Exhibition match vs the winning Battle of the Bay team for “Battle of the Bays best vs SoCal” for only the 5on5 pot. The money for Battle of the Bay qualifiers should have gone to the the Best team in the Bay, not a last second squad that didn’t have to qualify or put up the $$$ to be in it like everyone else.
It would be nice to have a breakdown of the total money at stake for this tournament now that its all said and done and where said money went.
SoCal put up a lot of money to enter this.
