I work somewhat into the evenings now so Blank and I wouldn’t be able to come anymore it seems lest we be pretty late, like I couldn’t make it over there until around 8ish.

Not gonna lie. Latest build of SFxT looked fun as hell from WNF last night.
Only 4 person tourney on Valentine’s Day for UMVC3 and just casuals for KOF13.

No tournament next week, but we WILL be meeting at Comic World at the same time for practice. We’ll be hitting some decent training for the upcoming Cedar Rapids tourney. If you’re sensitive about your gameplay, don’t show up, because “helping” doesn’t exactly mean “sugar-coating everything”.

Word Blank. It’s very obvious both you and Blake are putting time in. Keep up the good work. When AC comes out i’ll probably be learning Millia again, so that’s definitely a character I can teach people about.

While I’m thinking about it. For those of you planning on getting on the guilty gear train. What characters are you looking at, what stuff do you want to learn about or get breakdowns on? I’m more than willing to help point people in the right direction for good match vids/combo videos to watch, and if it’s a character im really familiar with I’m also willing to stream some training mode and show people basics and help try to ease everyone into the learning curve.
So yea, if you want to find info or learn stuff just give me a shout, anyone willing to put some time into the game is someone i’m always ready to help out and give advice to.

I think, after this CR tourney, I’m done with UMVC3. After last night, I have no interest in practicing or even playing casuals in the game. I’ll throw $5 into a pot or run a tourney to support the scene and players who do enjoy it, but there’s nothing about the game that makes me feel…well, happy or fulfilled after a win. I need that feeling to be playing a game seriously and competitively.
Unfortunately, that still leaves at least 5 games I want to play competitively, and SFxT isn’t even out yet for me to add that.

I’ll probably be learning Slayer, though I need to mess around with the cast again to see if I want to learn someone else as well.
I played Bridget and Ky in Slash (Because why not play him in slash?) and Millia/Bridget in AC. Mostly going to have to re-learn FRC’s and yo-yo canceling/unblockable setups again. Other then that I’ve got lots of footage to go back and watch for both those characters.
Might try Justice and Baiken in AC+. Generations mode would be sweet too.

She will have to be rebalanced if they intend to make her tourney legal in AC, because holy god, she just breaks all the rules of guilty gear. Triple jump, double air dash, an insane counter that gives her free outs for any wakupes, and super michael sword is BUSTED. Full screen punish on any move with any startup into stupid silly damage if she has meter for a FRC.
I had no idea how stupid this character was until i saw this video, but yea, tweaking will have to be made.
As for me, I’ll keep playing Anji, and will re-learn Millia. If Slash anji ends up turn legal through generations mode I will splooge everywhere.
Travis, I love ya and all, but I won’t consider a character “broken” until they dominate a long-running tournament scene like T4 Jin. And considering how powerful Eddie is and they’ve never banned him…honestly, I’d rather let tournament results decide something than a combo video.
Gill has never dominated a long-running tournament scene.
Mike - I’ll put it this way, if that character is tourney legal and completely unchanged, I will play her, exclusively, until she’s banned. The shit this character gets off the most basic things in guilty gear make Eddie look HELLA fair. This is one of those things where you have to trust me that that character was made to be overpowered and a boss type character. She has all the best parts of Slayer, Chip, and Millia rolled into one, and makes them even stronger. She has things that simply don’t play by the rules the engine was meant to enforce.
