Hey there, long time Iowa FG player here, never been involved in any sort of a community yet though. So, I looked briefly through this thread, but not all pages, I saw that there is an event coming up next month, that’s kind of exciting and I hope to go and maybe meet some people. My question is, is there anything more regular that goes on in say, the Des Moines area? Or even online?
I try to throw a monthly, although it’s been less consistent than I like it to be. That’s in CR. The event coming up next month is part of the series, but I’m moving it for something special in June.
What games do you play?
Mostly SSFIVAE and Skullgirls at the moment, but also some SFxT, 3rd Strike, BBCS, KOF XIII, MvC3.

Wish I could be there. I’ll try to see what I can do next year, but not being able to drive and not having a ride makes it kind of tough. I’ll just stick to being a training room warrior for now, though.
That’s after I get my stick repaired, that is. My left microswitch is going out on me for some reason. I’ve ordered a replacement PCB for it, though, so hopefully I can get that squared away soon.
I’m slightly east of des moines but if you ever want to head out for games let me know. I play pretty much every fighting game around. Minus marvel anyway since i don’t actually have that one anymore.

UFGT8 was great as always. Didn’t get completely bodied in VS which is…odd since I’ve played that game like twice in the past year. Almost got out of my pool in KoF and got to play on stream so solid results where I’m concerned. GG side tourney got 16 people, not bad at all for tossing together a rag-tag event.
Now I find out that within a week both VF5:FS will be out and there’s a loketest for what might as well be a completely new version of guilty gear? Man this has been a good fucking holiday weekend.

you know you would meet most of us in that event so i give a try to show up. also the majority of us are 360 players so umm yeah i mean right now some of us are on a hiatus maybe will become more active before monthlies show up, but are you that guy i talk to at the bar in ufgt 8?
UFGT8 Great Tournament. Great Experience. Benimaru ran a train through my team to get out of pools though. Time to learn some more matchups!

Next tournament for MK here is set for June 29th at 7pm. i know saturdays are preferable for game tournaments but the guy running the shop has other things he’s running that saturday. Address is 118 E. Jefferson Prairie City, IA 50228. Send me a message if you can come so i can get a head count and let Shane (the owner) know what to expect. Unfortunately there is a venue fee of $5, i can’t get around that and $5 to play in the tourney. Standard 70/20/10 payout and tourney rules.
Honestly MK is the only fighter anyone in this small town really plays. I’m going to try and run a SSF4 side tourney cause some people seemed mildly interested in that but who knows. I can’t get anyone to play gear though 
Joker hosts monthly tournaments in DSM for UMVC, SF4, SFxT(Though maybe not anymore), KoF and anything else people will play. I’ll post in the thread when I get the next date.

I live in Pella, about a half hour from Prairie City. I don’t play MK, but if you do get SSF4 going, I’d totally be in.
