Hey guys im sort of a newb to skrull but i recently replaced akuma for him as anchor. I have two questions… first is tatsu one of the better assists for skrull, if not what is? and what is a best combo to do after a level 3? Thanks alot in advance!
Wait… You have Skrull as anchor but you want to make sure you have the best assist for Skrull?
Eh, whatever. Horizontal shit like Doom’s beam works the best. Tatsu is fine.
I was considering changing up my team to have him second instead of anchor bc alot of people in the forums seem to think he is a better char backed up by an assist. Thanks tho for your help!
Everyone is better backed up by an assist; SOMEBODY has to play anchor though, and Skrull is one of the best there is.
Then again, so is Akuma. Hmm. This might be one of those things where you change them up depending on who the opponent’s anchor is.
if you do a lvl 3 after a command throw or regular throw into the corner you can follow up with a full ground --> air combo, stone smite, stone dunk, rolling hook, meteor smash, inferno. Might even be able to throw in a s.S --> j.S in between the rolling hook and meteor smash.
i am so trash with strider, lol! i really really really need to get my execution up. so yeah, unfortunately, i have no updates. i see what you mean by the pick-your-poison XF3 anchor though (although XF2 with either Skrull or Wesker is also pretty godlike as well).
I run skrull/sent/akuma and akuma is a great assist for everyone, including skrull. you can do a nifty little mixup with akuma and skrull. What i like to do is jump, call akuma and airdash to the other side of the opponent. if akuma hits, you can hit confirm with 2C and combo.
This is also great for incoming mixups. jump, call akuma, airdash. sometimes it crosses up, sometimes it doesnt, and you know its a good mixup if the person doing it doesnt know which way to block. Of course akuma is also great to keep them locked down or to make your elastic grab H safe.
Also, i honestly prefer skrull with xf2 and akuma assist rather than akuma alone with xf3. So if you cant have anchor skrull, xf2 skrull with tatsu is just as good.
what does everyone think is the best point Skrull team? I’m guessing it would be Skrull/Sent/x but I don’t know who would be the best in the third slot other than Akuma.
Well, Wesker’s got that truly bitchin’ otg to rolling hook that tacks on SO MUCH extra damage. Other otgs can do that though. Taskmaster’s vertical shot is one of my favorite assists, needs a lot more love than it currently has, and Skrull can beneift from that kind of coverage really well, considering his range on some of his movements. Akuma’s assist is great, but I really don’t see how it’s specifically made to benefit skrull, other than that it’s just generally good. I’d say maybe even Cap’s shield, as it’s faster (though not as godly coverage) than drones, and still has that multi-hit window for command grab setups and lockdown. Just drones and cap’s shield would be a bit redundant, and if that were the case, Sent should go on anchor to back up Cap, who loves drones a bit more than the average character. Taskmaster and Cap I think would benefit most from Skrull assists of the bunch, but the others just have such amazing assists in general.
The main reason I would take drones over cap is because they give Skrull safe meteor smashes. I agree about tatsu not specifically benefiting Skrull. With drones I cant really think of another great assist that goes them. Maybe someone with really good dhcs is a good fit?
True, but also keep in mind skrull benefits from an assist like drones or vajra more than most of the cast which opens up so many mixup and reset possibilities in addition to making all his specials safe therefore making his mid range game that much scarier.
This. In vanilla I ran skrull (tenderizer)/dog (coldstar)/sent (drones) which has great assist, dhc, and mixup synergy all around totally recommend everyone try it out.
cold star and drones on the same team seem a little redundant to me, but the dhcs are good. I’ll play around with it.
Cold star doesn’t have the range of drones but it has better block stun so it’s a lock down tool used for when skrull already has opponents in or near corner. Drones however, are used to let skrull approach safely from full screen.
Also spamming cold star on point with drone assist is annoying to deal with =P.
I’d say Skrull can provide the awesome dhc if he’s second. Everyone knows how awesome the dhc damage is on inferno, and Tenderizer is one of the most fun assists in the game on incoming. I’d say for point people who can do silly amounts of mixups and unblockable stuff on incoming, I’m thinking X-23, Ammy, Firebrand, Dormy, Magneto, Felicia. Hell, you may even be able to run a decent phoenix wright with those assists (he does have the solo unblockable with his first hyper and overhead, though I’m not advocating using Phoenix Wright, no matter how much I love him). Drones are good for everything else, Skrull assist to lockdown incoming and anti-air on those occasions you can follow up.
Another idea for point skrull is Skrull/Frank/Sent. Nothing says dhc potential like whiffing with Frank’s hyper, taking a picture, hitting them into tenderizer, another picture. That’s normally level 5 Frank right away, and there’s no worries about guessing the TAC. Frank works very well with drones, as does anyone with a roll or a need to approach. And, though I’d say Frank’s assist is similar to Akuma’s (generally good, but not specifically applicable), but even if it’s generic, it’s the shopping cart. Nothing wrong with that. Frank to Skrull DHC is insane damage, as is either of them to Sentinel. So, good DHCs, decent synergy, and Frank can certainly benefit from the lockdown given by tenderizer.
What do you guys think of a dorm(hole)/sent(drones)/skrull(tenderizer) team? the only one I’m unsure of is whether or not sent is a good fit. The reason I put him in the middle is coz if worse comes to worse, I don’t want to get stuck with anchor sent. Skrull as anchor is crazy and fun. Lol
Sounds like a good team, you can throw out sent drones and then go for a teleport mixup with dorm or chill back and powerup/throw pillars. HSF should DHC nice with chaotic flame and sent’s BnB DHCed into inferno does like 1mil.
Ive been running a skrull, wesker, hawkeye team and i was wondering which assists and which order u guys think would work best
sent is definitely the character i suck with the most in the team. uhmm… when u say sent’s bnb DHC into inferno, what bnb are you doing? i’m assuming it’s more than the cr.M xx S xx MMHS xx rocket punch xx ball? lol
imo, i think you just need to decide who you want in that anchor slot. but i’d put wesker in front because i think he benefits more from hawkeye assist more than skrull, but really it’s your choice. assists, i’d go for otg-gunshot, triple arrow and orbital grudge or tenderizer.
I
Wow, that team is awesome in so many orders. I’d say Skrull (whatever) / Wesker (dat gun) / Hawkeye (triple arrow) is my pick though. Hawkeye is my favorite anchor, and his assist is awesome for Wesker, and okay for Skrull too. Also, Skrull lead gets the added damage of OTG gun plus rolling hook. And any of Skrull’s assists would work well here. Tenderizer for incoming and anti-air, Orbital grudge for quite a lot of things, and stone smite for painfully strong combo extension and odd delayed teleport stuff, works especially well with Wesker.
Maybe Wesker/Hawkeye/Skrull. In this case, skrull might want Stone Smite, just because of how much Hawkeye could benefit from it in combos, makes his damage, snazzy. Wesker would still have smite for combo extension, and triple arrows for teleport shenanigans. And Skrull’s a great anchor too.
And you could do Hawkeye/Skrull/Wesker. That sounds great too. Skrull can use tenderizer for pretty much everything, gun still extends Hawkeye and Skrull combos, and dark Wesker’s in town.
It’s your call. This team looks versatile. I like the first, but everything is good. Triple Arrow and Wesker’s gun for assists are pretty consistent, though. I’d try out a bunch of different orders online, maybe. See what works.
