Invasion Force: The Skrull Team-Building thread!

What are you ways of leveling frank up? Any Nemesis --> Frank tech? Or do you just run Nem until he dies and then try for a TAC from frank to skrull into the inferno/whiff “glitch”?

I’ve actually changed the order of the team, but I have found some interesting stuff will all members into other members.

Been running Skrull as the lead with Stone Smite then Frank and Nemesis. The goal of the team is to build some meter with Skrull and find a way to get over to Frank with THC, Inferno and whiff, etc and Frank can get easy DHCs to Nemesis.

Skrull whiff inferno to Frank DHC is the easiest method to level up Frank, but I also have some level up combos with double assist and things like that as well. Nemesis to Frank also has some interesting setups as Frank can actually DHC from Nemesis’s BioWeapon Assault for a picture with Survival Techniques at full screen or Funny Face Crusher at close up (also works on Meteor Smash to Inferno btw). Mostly Skrull is leading to build some meter and also to take out some of the more threatening characters that run with assists and some of that silly spam that holds people out like Morrigan.

Still learning and still experimenting, but mostly the three characters are fairly easy to play and I like all three of them. Skrull and Frank I really like, I just need to find a team that works with them. Possibly Nemesis lead followed by Skrull and then Frank. That way Skrull and Frank can pull shenanigans after Nemesis is dead and pull some double anchor bs.

^^^ good stuff. So you’re saying I can try whiffing funny face crusher after MS to inferno? But then wouldn’t frank already need to be level 3 to get that super? It sucks how I have to whiff an air inferno to get the frank level up, that usually means I have to already have some meter stocked. All the skrull combos I have that build a meter end in MS/inferno thus I can’t whiff with survival techniques :frowning:

I’ve also been experimenting with Skrull Torch, sadly that super does not send into a hard knock down. I wonder if doing a meteor smash and canceling it a bit higher so Skrull is in the air when he starts inferno would work.

I have also been using some new and interesting back and forth team swap combos as well. For example:

Frank > Nemesis works something like this:
Frank does fun combo and team exchanges down or up. Nemesis hits with jH to jdH with good timing and can relaunch to jH and team swap any direction back to Frank, giving him many more hits in his combo.

Skrull > Frank works something like this:
Frank swamps to Skrull who hits the opponent to the ground. Using Stone Smite (and depending on hitstun) Skrull should be able to relaunch into a single air attack and a swap back to Frank, allowing Frank more level ups.

Plenty of options for sure, but I am not entirely sure what to do yet and I need to stop sucking on execution.

im now running super-skrull on anchor, he can dominate (i think skrull would be absolutely crazy if he had a lvl 3 command grab hyper). i dropped haggar and she-hulk. what do you guys think i should do from here? im STILL in a character crisis…

current team: x/x/super-skrull

I know Firebrand really loves Tenderizer. Snap in the next guy, activate Tenderizer, Firebrand basically gets an air unblockable. Any character that gets a lot of damage off their air throws likes it, too (I use Tron for this).

If you decide to use Firebrand you should use someone with pseudo-DHC-glitch properties like Dante or Vergil with their Devil Triggers in order to extend combos since Firebrand doesn’t get much damage on his own.

hm, interesting. i was thinking c.viper on point because tenderizer in the corner kinda works like ammys cold star assist and c.viper could use her unblockable.

So any suggestions on a skrull/dorm team?

How useful is Tenderizer as an assist? It kinda seems a bit high up and it might miss a few characters (or not be very effective) …?

I’m considering using Skrull/Firebrand, but would Tenderizer be useless outside of snap-in or incoming character unblockables?

Pretty much.

Thing is that incoming character unblockables are pretty damn useful.

I am really considering running Skrull on anchor. Going Spidey(Web swing)/Iron Man(Unibeam)/Super Skrull(Stone Smite for otg web throw tricksies)
Definitely would be good to learn all I can about Super Skrull.

=O Version 2.0 of Hi Im Nastyy’s Super Skrull guide came out today. I assume he posted it somewhere in the Skrull threads, but if not, check out.
Should teach you some reeeeeally great stuff. It’s already taught me a few things I didn’t know and I was pretty sure I was going to know all of what was in the guide.

Great vid. Going to play with dorm/hawk/skrull

I’ve been looking for someone to make my Dorm/Doom team and I think Skrull at the anchor position could be a fun answer to the team. I’m curious about using Orbital Grudge as a defensive assist for Dorm since I will have Plasma Beam as my zoning tool. I know it has super armor, but how useful is it?

I’m currently running Skrull(y)/Frank(a)/Morrigan(y).

I call Morrigan out to build meter so I can get Frank to Lv.5 as soon as possible with Skrull. Frank’s cart assist is great for command grab resets too. Thanks to Morrigan, I can Meteor Smash xx Inferno to punish assists all day.

Hey guys, I’m working on a Haggar/Skrull/Cap team, and it’s pretty good. Skrull’s Stone Smite extends Haggar combos very easily, and his Inferno is a powerful DHC after either of his hypers. And Haggar’s spin assist, while it’s not airtight, protects Skrulls whiffed command grabs, and can make some fun mixups. My problem is my anchor. Cap’s shield helps with Skrull’s grab and approaching game a TON, but I’ve recently seen how amazingly Haggar and Chris work together. And Chris is a pretty strong anchor. Does his gun assist work with Skrull? Or should I forego the Inferno DHC and put Skrull in anchor?

I need some help sorting this one out. Any suggestions?

Oh, and triplexraider, Skrull seems really good with Dorm/Doom, but have you considered Tenderizer? It is a terrifying assist on incoming guys, and Dormy can have some insanely scary mixups on someone locked in place.

I figured using Tenderizer and throwing out the carpet leads to a lot of fun.

OG is pretty good (but obv not as good as tatsu), and the armor is useful for getting people off you. plus, OG props your opponent into the air which should allow you to start a combo coming off a M-teleport mixup.

On a separate note…

i’m having somewhat of an identity crisis. my worst matchups are zero and wolverine. my team right now is skrull/wesker/akuma and it works pretty well but skrull/wesker (my main killers) both have a hard time dealing with both zero and wolvie. any tips on making an anti-zero/wolverine team?

Probably substitute Wesker out for Sentinel? A lot of people love Drones for Skrull.

strider with vajra assist? That assist is pretty godlike, esp against people like zero and wolvie who like to jump and come down pressing buttons. Also both wesker and skrull can combo off the vajra hard knockdown. Third, all three make terrifying XF3 anchors. I’ve been meaning to try this team out (wesker/skrull/strider) so let me know how it goes :stuck_out_tongue:
