There’s almost no synergy at all aside from being able to do anything I want into Inferno on command, but it’s a lot of fun. I’m open to tips from players on using Skrull without assists - it’s very stressful!
Rapid slash assist is decent for skrull but I still like my hidden missiles.
Sticking with nova/skrull/doom. I like hawkeye a lot because he’s cheap and is as close to sagat as a vs game will get but he and skrull are both meter hungry putting them on the same team doesn’t sound like a good idea I’ll save him for my lame team dorm/hawkeye/doom.
Also as a general team buildtind top skrull is so much more then assist+meteor smash please stop spamming it just because it’s safe lol try experimenting and thinking out of the box.
Everyone should be using strider. Vajra makes skrull’s resets way more difficult to deal with, since you can time it to punish correct air recoveries. I also found that you can end a combo by calling vajra, launching them, they get knocked down, you launch them again, sjc and launch down, meteor smash inferno. That made my stone dunk bnb go from a bit under 800k mashless to I think it was 837k, which makes it a TOD for a whole lot more of the cast.
i ran with Skrull for quite a bit in vanilla. my team was Dorm(hole)/Skrull(orbital)/Doom(rocks). even though dorm starts, skrull is practically my point because i like to TAC or DHC. i just want him in there with meter. i really love how rocks covers my meteor smashes and how easy it is to hit confirm. and the dark hole is just to set up the grabs. Dark Hole has them sitting there forever, and as soon as they get out of blockstun, the startup of the elastic slam is done and they’re getting grabbed.
however i’ve been dabbling a lot with Nova (my current team is Nova(pulse)/Doom(beam)/Wesker(shot), i actually mained Wesker before skrull) and i really want to put skrull in my main team. shud i go with Nova(?)/Skrull(orbital)/Doom(??) and what assists? or do i stick with the ol’ Dorm/Skrull/Doom(rocks) team?

Good dhc synergy, chain assist helps makes skrull’s specials safe from mid range which is key, stone dunk+chain assist is good too. Pulse assist gives skrull space vs rushdown which is his big weakness and forces opponent to jump so you can meteor smash punish and it also helps ghost long range game:tup:
I’m curious to know how if hawkeye can work with skrull like I said both are meter hungry but if anyone else finds some tech post up!
I don’t think there’s a huge amount of synergy there, the greyhound assist does what any beam assist would do, but DHCing into hawkeye just isn’t that rewarding. He’s a solid character in his own right, but I don’t think he makes skrull that much better.
I’m experimenting with a team at the moment, consisting of Firebrand (Swoop)/Super-Skrull (Grudge)/Doctor Strange (Bolts). While I’m slightly uncertain about who out of Firebrand and Kl’rt should be placed first, all three characters benefit from their teammates’ assists no matter who is on point, and DHCs work consistently with proper timings (assuming Strange is last). In addition, I believe in their abilities to battle on their own when push comes to shove, as I feel they are all effective anchors who do not have any horribly unwinnable matchups among them. I think there’s potential for these three for sure.
I was hoping to see somebody using Firebrand with Skrull. I’m thinking of the same thing. I’m thinking of using Dorm instead of Strange though, simply because Skrull, Dorm, and Firebrand just strike me as three awesome individual characters from a style standpoint, and also because I love the idea of three crazy evil dudes just slinging fire all the time.
Thing is, I’m not sure who to put on point and who to put as anchor. Any suggestions? As far as assists go, I’d probably go for Swoop with Firebrand and Dark Hole for Dorm. Dunno about Skrull himself though. Again, any suggestions?
So I recently have been looking for a second in my Captain America/ x / Spider-Man team, which is meant to be played in that order. I recently put Skrull in that spot, since I have always had some interest in the character and his Orbital Grudge assist I feel is strong. Also DHC’s well out of cap and into spidey. This team does have some DHC issues, mostly in regards to DHCing into cap, but that can be managed.
Captain America (shield slash) / Super Skrull (stone smite) / Spider-Man (web ball)
Anyway, do you guys think there’s some hope here? I’ve been trying to nail down my new team, and only recently moved spidey to anchor as I feel he is very strong in XF3 and my best use of it. Prior to this he was strictly on point.
can someone explain to me what skrull’s assists are good for outside of combos? Im guessing that stone smite isnt rly useful for anything other than extending combos and i dont need that so its down to the other 2. My team is Super Skrull / Strange / Doom and i mainly want the assist for strange in case i tag him in.
Right now im convinced that bolts of balthakk is possibly the best assist in the game for skrull, it gives you a great opening for the command grab and helps you rush in. More importantly it works amazingly well with meteor smash, makes meteor smash safe and because of its long hitstun you combo after meteor smash meaning you can combo off his normal throws midscreen.
ask yourself if you like to play at least 2 characters of that team, otherwise drop it. Synergy could be worse but it’s nowhere near perfect. I don’t have that much experience with Web Ball assist, so I can’t help you with that.
What Viciou$ said. None of them are meant to be spammed recklessly but all three have their use.
While BoB enables Skrull to combo after MS, it does not make the move safe, at least not from all distances. You can block MS + the first hit of BoB high, then punish Skrull with a cr. magic series (best example being Vergil). Even if it did, I strongly recommend everyone to refrain from spamming MS like there’s no tomorrow. You won’t improve your game that way and Skrull is so much more than that. But yeah, BoB is perfect for those grab setups.
You know I was looking at DJ Huoshen’s team, and if he can run Felicia Skrull Task then there is no reason Cap Skrull Spidey cant work. As long as I make it into the corner I can DHC between any of them, and the skrull and spidey assists together give cap a solid game. I do have some trouble on defense which is why I’m kinda considering orbital instead of stone smite for skrull, but i dont know I like stone smite assist a lot. Web ball assist is nice btw, good projectile with moderate durability and moves slow so its easy to do setups with it.
My main concern is I don’t really have anything to cover me if I do elastic slam. Is a standard projectile enough for this or does skrull typically need something heavier. Either way kinda like I was saying if DJ is playing with similar assists I can’t help but think my team has potential. =P
