From full-screen it’s not as safe as a beam, but it will eat single projectiles. It’s really better suited to calling from mid-range or during a blockstring. It does sound like your team needs some Von Doom :smiley:

Hey guys picked up skrull for ultimate and have been running, Rocket Racoon (pendulum) / Skrull (Spinning fire or doom) / Doom (Hidden Missles) was hopeing to get a opinion on this to see what people think or what would need changing to make it work a bit more effectively. I’m not sure dooms missles help that much with skrull was thinking of switching to plasma beam? im not sure team wise the only one i’d really like to replace is the racoon even though i like him so much i’d really like to make this work. Gonna hitup the lab after some responces and get my combo’s down etc etc :slight_smile:

Orbital Grudge assist is no where near as good as Akuma Tatsu was and is still pretty much garbage, Stone Smite provides better utility (otg and wallbounce)

Iron Fist and Skrull work well together, they have supers that DHC well together, and Iron Fist’s beta GTFO assist is a poor man’s Tron Fire which I used to run with him. The assist helps him and he can hit confirm from it.

Im using Iron Fist /Skrull/Arthur
Having Iron Fist/Skrull use Arthur’s dagger assist to get in has worked well for me.
I have Arthur go golden then tag him out. Just to give u an idea: 1 dagger kills 2 sentinel drones when golden.

i have been using IF in another team maybe i should switch him into my skrull team? but who should i replace rocket racoon or doom? :confused:

Not near xbox to test it: which one of Iron Fists assist is the Get Off Me assist? I’m trying to build a team around skrull and I’m still looking around for prospective members.

IF’s Beta assist. Anybody else been messing around w/ Vergil/Skrull?

Cool, lemme know how the Vergil/Skrull works out, still haven’t got my copy, so I have no way of testing. Also, was wondering if Vergil - Judgment/Skrull - a or b/Sent - drones would benefit more from Orbital Grudge or Stone Smite?

Been running Iron Fist (Overhead kick of win (Beta) / Super Skrull (Punch ground with flaming fist) / Dr Doom (Plasma Beam) and its working out really really well so far, sometimes change up beam for missles but i seem to have more success and mixups with the beam. Absolutley loving SSkrull in ultimate!

Was wondering since Akuma tatsu now causes air tech wouldn’t he be a good assist to pair w/ Skrull? Seems like it could setup more elastic Hs and cover j. 2H and meteor smash. As well as, on block setting up M or H.

been messing around with skrull/vergil. I like tenderizer assist for vergil mainly because it helps extend his combo and helps get him to 750-780k damage. But I might switch to orbital grudge depending on how well I do with the team

So I went with Skrull/Hawkeye/Nova as suggested above, and I’m starting to like it more as I get used to the new characters (and new skrull). I find myself using the grav pulse assist in the neutral game if the matchup suggests they won’t stick to the ground, as a pre-emptive get off me. Hawkeye’s greyhound lets me move in, but I rarely go for block strings with my skrull, so I use it to get confirms with down-H or cross up stone dunk. If they’re blocking a bit more, then the greyhound covers me for a kara’d elastic slam.

I haven’t incorporated either assist into my combos, but I think both could be used to cover reset attempts. On incoming characters, a grav pulse just in front of where they land is a great way to set up an elastic slam 50/50, if it’s a bit closer to the edge, they get forced to block, and you can try for an elastic slam, or another mixup, but again, I don’t really go for blockstrings.

Once Skrull dies, grav pulse is a great cover for hawkeye to set up his zoning game, and if they do get hit by it in the air, the bouncing is great for adding damage. I’ve been having trouble getting that initial space to set up, but once it’s set up, it’s pretty strong to have exploding arrow, grav pulse and horizontal arrows going, not to mention gimlet punishes.

Nova on anchor is ok, I’ll hopefully improve with him, but he has an ok zoning/chip game in x-factor, and can go in a bit too.

I haven’t been using DHCs enough, but inferno -> kiss of fire works, and obviously gimlet does. For Hawkeye to nova, I haven’t tried it, but you could probably do gimlet into human rocket punch into safety or combo depending on position.

Most importantly of all though, they colour coordinate with brown and yellow (team banana man), and even have similar poses on the victory page.

On another note, I think strider would be even better than nova simply because vajra is so godly and strider as an anchor is scary as hell.

I actually like that pairing, especially if you go with bolts of balthak assist. Sure the assist is crouchable, but that won’t matter to skrull since he has a full screen command grab. In theory it should either keep the opponent ducking long enough to grab em, or make em jump allowing you to get a free grab while also keeping skrull safe. Pair that with a meteor smash and mr strange is completely safe against 90 percent of the cast.

I’ve been playing sentinel/trish for a while now looking for a point character and last night I decided ill give skrull a shot. What do y’all think of skrull/sentinel/trish? I know drones were like designed for super skrull since they do so much for his offensive game but what synergy do you see between skrull and trish? I know she-hulk could get some nasty air throw resets using the peekabo assist so ill test to see if skrull can do the same. Plus hopefully that orbital grudge assist can help sentinels pressure game.

Welcome Jak, Peekaboo assist is good for Skrull, could use it to cover elastic slam attempts and to keep rushdown off of him. As far as DHC synergy, voltage to inferno pretty much just works in the corner, midscreen you’d have to do voltage to torch. If all 3 are alive and somehow Trish is on point, you could do insert Trish combo that ends w/ j.s, round harvest, then raw tag in Skrull, call drones then go for crossup meteor smash, if it hits you should have enough time to do a meteor smash m to inferno.

My fellow based skrulls I am need of your assistance. I am currently using Kl’rt(stone smite)/Nova(centurion overhead)/Doom(beam). I use Nova second for his assist overhead to setup unblockable setups and dhc safely when Kl’rt needs healing. However my question is should I use Doom beam or missiles assist? I use beam to control space so it can allow Kl’rt and Nova a way to get in, but I am very unsure of missles though. Please my fellow based skrulls help me!!!

Beam is great for mix-ups.

e.g. Beam Assist + Meteor Smash(xx Inferno) to lock down and potentially cross up anywhere except the corner. This is SUPER ambiguous because people tend to panic when Kl’rt isn’t on screen. They expect the worst and then you can start the mind-games.

Missiles is a “security measure” assist. You can be a bit more bold with j.2H and Meteor Smash mix-ups because Missiles will /probably/ cause them to drop the combo/

lol I know you prolly wont like this answer, but either assist is perfect imo. Hidden missiles makes people block, which equates to free command grab attempts plus it will allow nova to play more keep away based game which I think he can excel at with the right assist. On the flip side plasma beam is just a really good beam assist. Now that I think about it, personally id go with hidden missiles especially since skrull can make doom almost completely safe by meteor smashing to the other side of the screen making it impossible for the opponent to stop the missile launch. So yea imo id go with hidden missiles.

I guess it’s just a matter of personal preference:
Beam: fastest, best in clearing the way for a quick wave dash
Missiles: slowest, combo breaker/extender, provides command grab setups
Rocks: medium speed, makes meteor smash safe
