I want to say that I fucking love nearly every genre the Japanese gets into. Just my opinion, but compare to the West, the Japanese equals or even excels in a lot of genres(as of now, I’ll gladly listen to mainstream Jpop than western pop music, but to a lot of people, that’s a given). I was into stoner rock/doom/70’s a few years ago and Boris was right up there when they were in their Doom phase. Dj Honda has a huge influence in not only Japanese hip hop but also in the US. Daishi Dance has a smooth house/electronic style that I loved listening to when driving back from school on the freeway around Denver. Japanese stuff has always been part of the pallets of music through out my life. If I ever visit Japan, I’m going to break the bank in getting cds/vinyl.

Anyone know of any good blogs to find some japanese indie rock music?

SWIM SWEET UNDER SHALLOW is one of my favorites right now.
Last.fm similar artists is okay, but I really want to be exposed from the music right from the source and other than just going to Japan, a Japanese run (or even an English one that has “dem connections”) blog would be nice.

Has anyone heard of Graphiqsgroove? I learned about them after I heard one of their tracks in a recent MvC3 vid. I like their stuff.

Not into their newer stuff but man Boris had some amazing shit. Feedbacker is one of my favorite albums, they signed my lp copy years ago.

Wow, I almost exclusively listen to Japanese music and I haven’t heard of most of these. Feel like an idiot right about now =/

Anyways, sorry if anyone already posted this, but another good J-Rock band that people might not know of is DELUHI. They disbanded by now, but their music is still amazing. Some of my personal favorites,

These two are from one of their earlier singles, MAHADEVA. Ivory and Irony is probably my favorite song of theirs, IMO it’s just beautiful.

These are the last two songs they made before they disbanded, both with their own respective singles. While the music video for Departure is kind of… terrible, the songs themselves are still really great. The latter was the last one they made… and it’s called “Departure”… wow, I just noticed this >_>
