Ok, I’m not trying to start a tourney to take away from events that are already in place. Wtf does that shit do to try and tear something down that’s here and still growing and replace it with shit-scraps from scratch?
This tourney would be for people who cannot (not by choice) go to TW or they’re craving more sf4 competition. I’m trying to figure out how many people would still be willing to attend given that they’ve already invested Saturday evening into TW or if they have work on the weekends. Not everyone is willing/wants to invest two whole days to sf4.
And wtf hell yeah if another tourney pops up it better be intense. I’m hoping people would straight faced enough to try to win the prize pool, not just shrug it off if they lose.
Again this thread was started to get something else going without fucking up other shit. I’m asking everyone because there’s a nice rec room in my apt complex and I live hella close to it, so it’s easy to move my shit back and forth… not because I want to have “my own shit or split the community.” If this can be done, let me know; if not, then it’s all still good.
So from what I’ve gathered, Friday and Sunday are the possibilities, Sunday being meh to some people. Keep in mind this would most likely happen once every three weeks given everyone’s schedules.

Anyways ejdge…Fridays (non Preppy) would be cool especially if we started earlier like 7-8 we could be done at 9-10 which is a reasonable time for sleep reasons plus it would make close to every Friday and Saturday a SF4 opportunity. Of course there are no tourneys at Preppy’s but the competition that shows up for casuals is always big. More opportunity to play good people means we all get better. We as a scene need to level up hard after seeing the events of SB4 and Barfights 2. We need more SF4!
Shit man, I had this EXACT same thing happen to me in junior high and it really made me step back and look at myself.
With that, I generally don’t like jumping in on these drama-inducing back and forths, but Elias just hit the nail on the head.
EDIT: And this shit goes further than Kuenai. Everything Elias said applies to every single person who comes out to play and wants to be accepted as a good part of this community. Yeah. At first I was butthurt and defensive and didn’t understand why she had to say it like that, and then I understand that nothing else could’ve possibly gotten through to me.
I’m just tired of all this wasted energy on conflict, hostility, drama, whatever. Everybody doesn’t have to like everybody, but if we all just make an effort to be sociable people we can at least cohabitate in the same scene.
I had the same exact situation in my first job. I was good friends with my assistant manager and one day he was just like “dude all you do is bitch. Like I’m sorry but you are so negative it’s hard to deal with”. Yeah I was somewhat offended at first but he was right and to be honest even if you are in the right complaining just makes it worse.
I complain too much too/get frustrated when I lose, but I’m trying to get better at it.
I think just being aware of it helps. (not trying to jump in on drama or anything)
Edward we know that you weren’t trying to make that your intention with the post. And I know you wouldn’t do that to me (cause I’d release Eileen on your Brad lol). Things just got intense with people and yeah. Sadly the chance of making it out is super slim to none since I work all weekend long.
ANYWAYS Fridays evenings sound good/open for you to have this event. I would consider making it an ST/SF4 or MvC/SF4 or T6/SF4 tournament to gain dual interest as well.

Every three weeks, Friday evenings, Sf4 and T6(since ima try it out) tourney? Not sure how late I can use the room I can ask 6 or 7pmish work? I’d rather it end early so Friday night is still free.
