Ok guys, I’ve come up with a pretty good way to practice IA JKs for those of you who are still struggling with it (like me).
Go into training mode and record the dummy to walk/dash backwards for 10 seconds. Once he/she reaches the corner jump over them to the other side and just start practicing your IA JKs. This way, the dummy will constantly keep moving away from you, instead of you having to back up after every few JKs.
And I guess here’s a tip for practicing execution in general - slow it down.
If you keep practicing something at full speed and fuck it up 20 times, what makes you think you’ll get it perfectly the 21st time? Applying this to Adon’s IA JKs, I started out slowly by doing some AJKs at the peak of his jump, just to get used to the motion. After doing that so many times, muscle memory kicks in and it begins to feel like second nature. I speed up my input a bit, and consequently Adon starts kicking lower to the ground.
another tip to learn TK JK is to learn Delayed TK Cannon Strike with Cammy first (you know, you can perform Quick TK Cannon Strikes and Delayed TK Cannon Strikes).
OK, but if you saw Alex Valle’s video, then you would know that he said that the timing and input is fast. That input allows you to do IAJ at the lowest possible point of the ground.
edit: I am well aware that AJK can’t be done using jump back, at what point did i indicate that you have to jump back? Furthermore, to do an IAJ that’s really low, you’re not supposed to jump anyway. Being a smart ass only works if you know what you’re talking about.
As far as I know you do have to jump at least a little bit. It’s not a true instant air like Cammy’s, but it’s pretty close. I tried your method, but I keep getting back jump or neutral jump like the above poster. Maybe there’s something I’m missing IDK
It’s just a fact that that can’t work as an input. You need to jump forward or jump neutral somewhere to do an IAJK, and there’s no input to do that in the sequence you listed. The only time you hit up is up-back.
If you’re getting a jaguar kick out of that, you’re either not actually doing that input, or just doing grounded jaguar kicks.
Be not confused. Just look in Adon’s command list. See that there is a JK and an AJK. You were definitely getting JKs, although why I don’t know - I thought they were supposed to make the backward SRK motion shortcuts more legit le sigh
I managed to get it 90% of the time now using the same motion (:qcb::uf:+:k:) that I used to Viper’s high jump to instant burning kick from ex ground pound. This probably works because I had the ground pound to buffer it into and press the kick a bit late with Viper so that timing must convert into a tiny bit of jump but its looking very win. Bit more practice and it should be amazing.
For those of you that are doing the Tiger Knee AJK’s ( ie: qcb,u,lk/mk/hk) how late do you have to input the kick after the motion? Because I was in training mode yesterday for like a good 15 minutes just doing it non stop and it seemed to me that the kick button is inputted so late that it seemed impractical to use.
Though I can do IAJK’s to the point where I can punish guile fireballs at 3 range
