Instant Air Jaguar Kick

I don’t think they intended the Air JK to be as instant as Cammys Cannon Strike. I wish they did though.

BUT, i think its dumb that the EX Air JK can come out earlier than normal Air JK

What vid are you talking about, the Alex Valle one right

he’s probably referencing greglife’s tutorial on how to do an instant air jaguar kick.

As for people struggling, I have a couple suggestions for you.

If you are getting:

  1. Jump Back - you are doing your motions wrong
  2. Any other Special move - you are doing your motions wrong
  3. Jump forward kick - you are LIKELY doing your motions right but timing the kick wrong

If your motions are correct and you are just timing the kick wrong it WILL come out as jump forward kick. Now this does not mean that if you are getting jump forward kick it means your motions are correct.

ive had the air tk come out for me a few times in training.

Iv done it but not to be relible it’s just the timing, I do have some vids of ne attempting to do it I’ll post them up later

here is the vid, just point out whts wrong and things i might need to do. Saying of done the method and got it but not alot just need that finally thing to make it work.

it seems like you are hitting kick too early. try to delay the kick.

The best test I can think of to see if you’re pulling it off properly is if you can combo into sweep after MK or HK AJK

Thanks I will try that but I just thoght since hard kick is coming out I have been hitting it to late.

So I’ve been experimenting with the IAJK, and it seems like there are certain characters that you can do IAJK, cr.mk xx Rising Jaguar FADC Ultra 2 against. I can do it reliably against Sagat at least, but I know it doesn’t work against Ryu. I’ll be back in a bit with a list of who it works against, seems like something that’d be useful to know.

mm… linking with cr lk (instead cr mk) is easier and works with all chars, doesnt it?

range is a bit shorter though.

finally im starting to be able to use some IAJK in real matches, althoug i still miss sometimes… but it is clear, in order to have a solid Adon, you have to learn TKJK.

OK so you can definitely do cr.lk xx lk rising jaguar after a Mid/Heavy TKJK against anyone, and you can do cr.mk xx mk rising jaguar against Sagat/Seth/T. Hawk and possibly a couple others for a bit more damage, but it doesn’t really matter because what you SHOULD be doing after the Mid/Heavy TKJK is a naked MK Rising Jaguar fadc u2. Works against everyone and does the most damage you’re going to get off a TKJK. It’s also hella easy to do, so yeah, skip the normal if you’re going for the ultra.

but linking with cr lk/cr mk is cooler!!

just kidding, i also realized yesterday about that, damage scaling makes using the linked normal a waste if going for the ultra.

IAJK are awesome!

All the cool kids are doing TKJK, RJ, FADC, EX TKJK. 3 bar meaty set ups FTW! (not very practical unless you’re just trying to be cool, in which case you will be if you pull this off in a match)

I bet someone already mentioned this but I’ve been doing Ex TKJK antiair into ultra 2 or another RJ. The timing is easy to get that first juggleable hit without the hard knockdown.

I think you mean ground ex jk. And to get the ultra2 it has to be in the corner. Otherwise you can mk rj. Also, it only AA if they are jumping back.

I can’t seem to pull this off with 2149, but I’m able to still hit crouching opponents with 9214 so I guess that’s not so bad. Not sure if I’m reliable enough to take this online, but I think I’m close!

Actually air EX JK works too (1 hit), he’s right, and it’s even better. Way less risky overall and faster.

I’m sure I screwed up the terminology but here’s a video of what I’m talking about.

I think it’s way more effective than a grounded EX JK. Especially when in close.
It can also hit jump backs but the timing is a bit more strict.

This is hot info I wasn’t aware of before. Practiced it and it’s now another way to set up U2! HAHAAHHAHHAHAH! REST IN PEACE!
