hey mind giving me some more pic of your wonderful work (particularly the RJ45 mount)? I’m planning on doing the same RJ45 adapter (after tracking down a TE). pics of the compartment, with/out cable. does the cable still fit in there? thanks.
Sir, I must say the wiring of the connections in your stick is incredibly clean looking, great job!
There’s a give and take with mounting the RJ45 inside the compartment. Basically, if you use the neutrik boots for your cables, you can’t close the lid to the compartment area. However, if you take the boot off and just use the RJ45, you can close the lid and it looks like a standard TE stick even during play. Personally, I don’t mind have the lid open during play, but it is something to point out. This seemed a small issue compared to relocating a button.
If I unplug the cable, I can still fold one up and store it in there, so thats cool I guess.
I’ll try to take some more pics when I get home from work.
Hello,
I copied RoboKirkt’s design and have an IMP question. I have an IMP installed (Instead of the switch in his pictures) and am currently using it with a RJ45 jack. Can I also hook the D-/D+/G/V from the top of the IMP to the USB jack next to my RJ45? (Hook both jacks up to the same point of the IMP) Or do I need to by another IMP for that jack?

Thanks in advance to everyone here!
Where does the VCC point on the 360 need to be plugged into? I have a TE, PS3 only Cthulhu, and an Imp.
Can’t figure out why my the stick is not powering up in a 360, the 360 data lines are connected to the 1 data lines on the imp…I followed the guide but is there a difference between the MC and the PS3 only Cthulu, because I cannot figure out why it isn’t working.
Apparently the V-1 solder point is only for the MC, so how what is supposed to go to the VCC screw terminal on the MC? There is a bit of contradictory information between the guide and the pictures.

I cannot figure out what the blue lines are supposed to mean, how can you wire 5v directly to ground??
The blue lines in that diagram are NOT connections, they were points where the other guy used a DMM (digital multi-meter) to measure the voltages. He was having trouble with his setup. You should use my diagrams and photos as guides.
This is the original diagram I did:

Here’s the photo showing what to do when using PS3 only board. Still connect to V1 but you need to put 1 more wire shown in red in my photo.

Hope this helps…
The USB jack is for PS3/Xbox360 connections, the RJ 45 for GameCube/Wii and PS2 connections. So shouldn’t you already have the D-/D+/G/+5v from the Imp already connected to a USB jack?
Mine already has a glop of solder bridging where the red line is in your picture. Thanks for the help though, I wonder what is the problem…
Did you hold down the Guide button while connecting the USB cable to 360 console? This step must be done in order to activate the 360 portion since it is a slave device if you followed my connection diagram.
That is one way to do it. I just like having everything running through the RJ45, and having the USB for backup if I am out without the proper cable.
If I hooked up the jacks a I suggested, would it mess anything up?
I see what you were trying to to do now. I was confused because there weren’t enough information from your question. The answer is yes you can split the wires to the USB jack at the same time. Just a WARNING. If you have both jacks (RJ45 and USB) connected at the same time, you might short/blow something either in your stick or console.
hi,
yesterday i bought my SE,and today my LT and RT stop to working.
What can i do?
What appens if i call customer service?
If i open the stick can i resolve anything?
Wrong thread, ya crazy.
Hey guys thanks for this thread and other members that I managed to setup my SE 360 stick working on PS3 using MC Cthulhu and Imp.
After more than a week, Now I’m having problem using my stick on X360. The joystick direction is not registering. All the buttons are ok. I tested it also on PC using the X360 mode, and the stick directional input is not being recognize.
On PS3, everything works ok. Any idea where might be the problem is? Any suggestions where to look to troubleshoot.
Thanks.
So does the VCC pointed out on the picture for the 360 pcb have to go anywhere?
ignore this post
You just connect the 2 data wires from each console PCB’s USB out to one of the 2 positions on the DPDT switch and have the switch’s output wires connect to the actual USB cable. The other wires from the USB cable - power and ground - connect to the power and ground spots on one of the console PCB’s USB outs.
And of course you must connect the ground and power of both PCBs, either from the USB out place or somewhere else.
Right, so basically hook everything up to both except the data lines, which must only go to one PCB at a time. Yes?
Yep. And no need to edit your posts after somebody answers your question. That makes me look crazy!
Bomberman, in your guide I couldn’t see what you’re supposed to connect the VCC and Ground right next to each other up to on the SE pcb… I am really confused on what is supposed to be connected to the 5v screw in on the cthulhu, and whether I need the V1 to have a VCC on it…
I am using an imp and PS3 only cthulhu on an SFIV TE, and after following your directions my stick doesn’t power on (I did switch the data lines for xbox to 1 for xbox on default btw)…
