Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

Except their nto gimmicks, their tools all the characters can use that are built witht he core game in mind. Why does everyone want this to be like every other fighter? And it’s not like these elements are random, their static and you will always know what to expect. Fuck man I’m already thinking of ways I can get past zoning with the Nightwing by utilizing stage hazards, these are going to make matchups very interesting and dynamic. Do I sacrifice the corner and some damage to go to a stage I’m more comfortable on? Or do I stay in the corner and risk my opponent being able to utilize it better.

people always want to punt right away.

“symmetrical” doesn’t mean “devoid of stage interaction”.

Ugh, say no to Final Destination.

If they want to allow players to disable stage interaction, that’s fine, but allow players to select every stage. I don’t want to have to look at the same one all the time on stream.

It’s not a gimmick and part of the design of the core game. These hazards ain’t design in a way where you “fight the stage”. They are there if you want to use them and if you do it makes positional advantage a much larger factor. Would I want to force my opponent into a corner knowing there’s a hazard there for him to take adavantage of to which things around or make an easy escape? Or do I use it myself to extend my combo, add some extra damage or give my character an option he/she normally wouldn’t have without it. Things could potentially add to the meta and don’t want it sweep under the rug because it’s not traditional.

Injustice is not aiming to play “traditional” style for either casual or competitive play stated by Ed Boon and crew( I would play AE if i wanted that not an attempt at a clone with comic book characters). They are building the characters themselves to interact with their surrounding stage hazards as extensions of their combos to bring out unique possibilities. This gives the player more in depth though and choices on whether on not you take advantage of something nearby or how to react/deal to a transparent opponent who is stage hazard happy.

If they were to make a “final destination” stage it would most likely be a "no stage interaction kode"or the training mode stage(assuming it has no interactions), but it would be the players who would decide (exactly like the melee scene)to make that stage that 100% default stage for meta-game instead of dice-roll which would defeat the point on how the game mechanics was being developed. Its not a “gimmick” if thats how the game was built around. Its not something cheesy that has little to do with gameplay “fatalities” and “no excessive blood and gore” .

I hope there is a MK stage, I know this is a new series but still.

The idea of being able to knock someone from the pit right to the MK tourney stage itself(maybe knocking a fighting scorpion and subzero off the platform with the impact) then down into Goro’s lair(possibly knocking a fighting Johnny cage a Goro’s off stage) is to good an idea to pass up.

Alright: lets look at Nightwing vs Cyborg. Lets say the first stage doesn’t have many hazards making it beneficial to Cyborg. The Nightwing knows he can’t kill him so he gives up position and meter to set up a more hazard filled stage to enable him to gain better mobility options to get to Cyborg. This is an important part of the game and is greatly done.

I would love the idea of a MK reference stage that works with Injustice stage interactions XD

Hell it’s not even a idea that even this game popularized…

Smash if you ever took that game serioulsy

 • Soul Calibur/Tekken made it pretty reasonable as well. Those games have people picking different stages over picking characters all of the time too.*

It’s really rather if the stage interaction is too crazy or not.

Didn’t notice this before but where the fuck did cyborg teleport from?

he either decided to say “fuck this” and get out without saving anyone, if anyone was even around him that is, or turned evil and decided to destroy an entire city. and there appears to be either a tidal wave or nuclear explosion going off before the portal closes.

Either way he doesn’t seem phased by it at all and seems kind of weirdly evil now that I think about it.

I don’t know why but that creeps me right the fuck out.

I think it’s a desert or something and that’s a sandstorm. Or maybe he’s really evil and it’s a dustcloud from a massive explosion in the background.

PS: Cyborg has a run.

Thats obviously a city dude and sand isn’t white/grey, get your eyes checked.

no offense.

From that wager clash, it does sound like Cyborg’s VA is the same one from the Teen Titans cartoon.

Also who the fuck is flash talking too before cyborg materializes?

Thought the buildings were like tall rocks and stuff. Like on those Road-Runner cartoons.

Well, at least he’s not Superman, who shows his secret identity before the fight like it’s no big deal.

but this is still the best character intro fail:[details=Spoiler] [/details]

The Cyborg VA sounds exactly from the cartoon after some compare and contrast trials on whenever I heard Cyborg spoke in the game. Would love a reference “BOO YAH” somewhere in the character.

I completely agree with this and I totally want to see what kind of stuff people come up with when this game comes out. Character specific stage combos and what not.

probably because it is him.

well good for them for acquiring these familiar VA who reprise their characters in this fighter. Just shows they are putting some effort in appealing to fans of DC when they can. Wonder if they can get the VA who did “Slade” from the show for Deathstroke (he is pretty much confirmed at this point)
