Nobody on at 3am? Weird
Worse than uMvC3 online? Really? UMvC3 netcode was pretty much the worst netcode i have played on in recent years. I never played MK9 though. Maybe it’s because I live in Europe, but Marvel was seriously unplayable for me. I really hope that this is better.
Yeah realized the population dwindle down a lot at this time. Sucks for me since I work during the evening shift at work. I have the night to my self with only a few people in the lobbies.
If you’re reffering to your own comments, then yes. If shit like tagged moved and spamming with Slade/Doomday gets you wins, then so be it. This is fighting games, play to win.
in MvC3 I could land l,m,h, special move. In this game, not always. In MvC3 I could transition from a combo to a special move to a combo, and finish with another special move. Here, I am seriously lucky if I can find a match that allows me to land 3 hit combos and finish with a special. I never had that kind of trouble with MvC3. Was it perfect? No.
If I had to rank my recent online experiences for fighting games out of 10, I’d say:
SFIV/SSFIV - 9/10…an argument could be made for 8/10
SF x Tekken - 7/10
MvC3/UMvC3 - 7/10
MK9 - 3/10 and that is being generous. Probably closer to 2 or even 1
I:GAU - 5/10…probably closer to 4/10.
It’s like Mortal Kombat 2 all over again. I’m reduced to 2-3 hit combos and prayers. I can’t even play Green Arrow because so many of his moves require timing and spacing. Jump in’s are free because even if I react in time, my attack doesn’t come out in time and I eat pain. I get knocked down then blown up because there is so much input lag on my wakeup attacks. Oddly enough, on the first day it wasn’t this bad, I had maybe 25-35 percent of my games with some bad lag. Today, it’s maybe 1 out of 20 is playable. Before I gave up the last time just a little while ago, I went about 15 matches in a row where I couldn’t do shit, and neither could my opponent. It literally ended with whoever they picked going to the opposite screen and throwing projectiles or shooting me because NOTHING ELSE WORKS. I haven’t seen anybody besides Martian beat me with skill, just move spamming that is impossible to dodge with this shit lag, and random punishes of my dropped combos.
I’ve pretty much resorted to landing three hit combos that knock people down, then throwing projectiles and hoping.
But it’s still early, and I am hoping this is something they can fix right away.
edit: oddly enough, I haven’t dealt with ragequitters yet.
That’s because of the system of MvC3, not because of the netcode. Shit’s just easier in MvC3, no shit that the online portion would also be easier to handle.
If you’re getting a 7/10 for MvC3 you have the connection of the gods and they decided to spite you with Injustice because there’s no fucking way MvC3 is any better than Injustice and vice versa really.
I dunno what else to say. MvC3 was playable for me. Completely. I’d have occasional bad matches (probably 3 or 4 bad matches out of every 10-15), here it’s just completely terrible. I can’t take advantage of any fighting game necessities, like AA, punishing, or advanced combos. My BNB is 111 or 112 for a lot of characters.
Here is my speedtest too, so I dunno

nothing spectacular, but I shouldn’t be seeing online in this game reduced to an unplayable mess.
edit: one of the things I’ve noticed though is it doesn’t say where my competition is located. And one of the things I fucking LOATHE about XBL is that it considers anything outside of America as one giant country. So as a Canadian, I get paired up with South America and Europe a lot in other games I’ve played, rather than fellow Canadians and Americans.
Another thing to keep in mind…there’s no guarantee the SAME PEOPLE are getting the game. Like we compare MvC3 to Injustice but…how many MvC3 Players picked it up? Just different people to keep in mind.
@SoVi3t, are you playing characters like Magneto lol. My connection is very close to yours and I drop day 1 flight combos online or at least “mess” it up and have to opt for shockwave super rather than flight cancel into HG loop xx tempest.
So the netcode sucks for this game? Havent touched online yet…just been messing around. I’m really enjoying the freedom of not having the block button…them cross ups!
Lost my 1st Ranked as Bats against the laggiest Flash ever. My epeen is forever scarred.
However I won my 2nd match. Nigga was NOT ready for Rushdown Pirate Deathstroke. I actually heard him geeking out on his mic “WTF he’s getting closer!”
I dont have problem with online for this or UMVC…
I think more of your connections suck than you know or like to admit. I was in KOTH and other than one guy everyone was 1-3 bars. Overall looking at bars in every FG will reveal it. I know a guy who complains about lag while I watch his bars turn red in games, meaning its him. In most games you cant see your own. Have someone tell you.
Not many connections in this neighborhood, and 360 is wired = always max bars. Hell MK was alright pre patch, and SFIV seems near perfect, with TTT2 being best, even 1 bar connections that dont skip are good in that. Never played kof13 online, but I remeber 12 being absolutely unplayable even perfect connection.
As far as the game, its okay. I entertained on the Panda stream, of course after a streak the haters came, hating on my ‘lame’ harley and camping the water spout in atlantis. lol.
problem is her shitty range on string starters, even after a jump-in… fuck.
A good netcode grants more good connections. Two people on FiOS or some shit within a reasonable difference will be immaculate on almost any netcode. What separates the good netcode from the not so good are those that can deal with the subpar connections and grant a playing field that’s…playable.
The fact alone that the game still uses archaic bars to represent connection quality is enough to turn me off.

The only game that uses ping numbers is Skullgirls. It helps that it’s the only game you play.

Are you using Wireless or something? I am in Brockville, Ontario and while I have a better downstream than you my Up is worse, and I have had a few laggy matches but so far 90% of my experience has been very playable with no dropped combos(other than me dropping them myself due to inexperience with the game so far).
If you are using wireless, get off it, if not, then I am just not sure.
How many hours to beat the story? 4ish? I have the US version but am in Europe. For some strange reason it is region locked. Anyone know how terrible the lag will be?
3-4. Depends if you actually know how to use the characters you have to use for Story. I didn’t so I was closer to the 4 hour mark.
Any other Sinestro players? I’ve been trying to figure out some combos with him, but he seems pretty limited. What I’ve got so far:
Whiff Punisher: 4a~c, 4a~c x 2~4a, 4c, 2b x 2~6b (optional) meter burn, does something like 24% and leaves them half screen.
Whiff Punisher with Trait: 4a~c, 4a~c, 4a~c x trait, 2~4a, 4c, trait when close, 2b, 2~6b, trait, does around 28%, 30 something if you meter burn the 2~6b and use trait after it, sometimes you can even link a 2~6a after the trait, depending on screen positioning

The fact alone that the game still uses archaic bars to represent connection quality is enough to turn me off.
Tekken Tag 2 uses bars…best netcode this gen.
Skullgirls might be really close, but damned if I remember; that game was DOA. Also Avatar Fighter- an indie game uses ping, and is actually pretty good online, as you could see, I have more effort in that game than one probably should, and all my advanced combos work until 85 ping or so.
the netcode is fine if you have bad connection you will lag same with any other game.
so far i can say this netcode is as good as sf4
