Damn hate to triple post but:

Could someone post when its live. Im busy so i cant wait but i’ll rest to watch it when its on. Let me know plz…

I’m definitely playing Grundy. One of the lame things about MK9 was their wasn’t any legit grapple characters. I’m glad this game will get one.

holy hell what the hell did they do to midnighters costume

Damn, NRS really going funky. Hype is restoring.

It would be cool if instead of 2/3 rounds, they just combined that total life but the round thing is for pacing. I’d imagine it wouldn’t “feel” good/right depending on the total life? shrug

Its going to be captain cold probably because in the trailer he is the one who is dodging ice.

I’m not liking the sound of this. Having awful flashes to how early TACs worked.

This meter thing is…weird.

I’m still undecided. For me it depends how readily it can be spammed. If people just spend the whole match doing this move to each other back and forth it will get tedious. If it is use at about the same rate as breakers currently are, I can handle it.

Edit: It might become a series

Also, I hope they keep it fast, as I’ve said before, I’m kind of concerned about the length of cinematic sequences we’ve seen in the game (the wall kick and now clashing), could potentially screw up the pace.

If the clashing becomes overpowered (not saying it will) I could easily see combos being dropped by players in favour of strong single hits, which would indeed slow it down.

Ummmm…it sounds game breaking and like all matches will boil down to this mechanic.

Wow, a AAA game that isn’t afraid to take chances with new design ideas.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

This is exactly why I hope it turns out well.

That kind of speed change I can take though, it just changes how you play. What I don’t want are long non-interactive bits.

I get you. I really need to see how this works out, as this is the first mechanic that i’ve been hesitant on since the game was announced. It could either be great or a disaster.

Either way you have to love that they’re stretching the genre, in that ‘future of fighting games’ discussion Ilthuain was talking about the need for developers to be bold for the genre to move forward. This is looking like the big chance to start things moving again.

Agreed.
