I have been having a better online experience lately. The netcode still isn’t very good but at least I can land my shit unless MK9. I wish they used rollback or whatever being used for SC5 and TTT2.
I think Killer Frost is being slept on. I ran into a player that kept landing loops on me. I took her to the lab and found some sick shit. On it’s own u3 can be looped into itself three times for 21% damage. Combo into the slide the loop can get you 28%. With her trait you can loop up to ten times and get 51% damage. Trait and combo into slide the loop nets 58% damage. Geeezus
Picked up the game today… Planning on maining Wonder Woman. Her lasso stance is nice. Decent mobility to get around stuff (though things like her air rocket punch thing seems crazy unsafe) and has great damage up close. I don’t get that sword stance though. If it’s main purpose is to be defensive (lower chip damage) then why is the mobility so bad that you can’t do anything but block? If I try to dash in between projectiles… the recovery on her forward dash is so large that some characters have time to throw out a second projectile before I can block again. I was thinking that maybe it’s supposed to be the stance you switch to when you get up close but lasso stance seems to have more strings that leave you at frame advantage or at least at 0 on block. Sword stance just seems unintuitive at the moment.
Also: I played about 5 people today… All of them were quite laggy. Hopefully this gets improved soon. Netcode always seems to be the biggest issue
How do you escape corner pressure with no meter? Just use an interactable? It seems like there’s a lot of stuff that would stuff them. Of course, not getting in the corner in the first place is the priority, but yeah.
Also I get blown up a lot but I’m still learning how to make myself safe. I wish dashing was easier, never got used to the double pull in Street Fighter either. Will keep at it.
From what I remember of MK9’s netcode, it was playable, better than KOF13’s horrible input delay playable.
Just not “feels good” playable.
I’ll have to try it myself after a run through single player.
Is the single player like MK9 where you have to play like half the cast? I prefer sticking with one character, even though MK9’s single player was pretty fun.
Yes, it is. You play most (not all) of the cast at various points. You don’t HAVE to go through it though, there’s nothing competition-vital unlocked in there. I thought it was an alright superhero story (and I stopped caring about superheroes in the late 1990s), and others I discussed it with actually really liked it; they seemed to know a lot more about comics than I do though.
So consider it a nice extra, but one you can skip if you don’t like it.
Bane is mid~low tier! I can kinda tell you that off the bat. This guy needs A LOT of work against zoning which a lot of people have. The armor shenanigans are a great gimmick but it’s hard for him to touch people sometimes.
