Personally I like the Block button being a MK only thing and having a different control scheme in this is pretty dope because this is like NRS’ marvel. I really hope the high/low mix-up heavy gameplay remains and doesn’t get over shadowed by the new cross-ups tho…
So does this mean they will actually have more depth to jump-ins? Cause it’s not like block button was holding back much for MK9 jumps.
Part of the reason why cross ups wasn’t problem in MK is that there was that character didn’t jump different ways. You didn’t see floaty, fast-fall, weird-arc,etc jump physics. You certainly didn’t see different jump normals for every other character.
So we will see if this actually affects anything…
Which is why I’m glad this is some random game they can try stuff in, if they tried this in MK I’d be pissed. It’s also why I feel this is a very clever way to get more Capcom fans to get into NRS games.
Unless they start giving people different air normals and give each one different priorities this back to block shit is the real gimmick, not the arena interactions.

Firelord is a herald, typical powerset of a herald is space travel,super strength,super speed and the ability to channel the power cosmic. In comic tiers, heralds are generally very powerful and beyond the scope of typical earth heros; At spidey’s best he still should never be able to KO a herald and this fight is generally considered by comic fans as a example of bad writing.
On that note I dont see whats wrong with starfire, who doesnt love hot girls in slutty outfits.

Edit: I hate wonder woman in pants, I dont know why people want the female characters in more layers…wonder woman was always in a 1 piece bathing suit and most of the girls in comics dress half naked. Its standard fair just like every guy have extremely tight pants while being shirtless.
The annoying thing for me is that there are plenty of mixups and traps in MK, the block button thing just seems to be something people latched onto because it was OMG different.
I think a smart idea would be to have all the main 7 leaguers in the game, plus cyborg since he is part of the new 7 and one of their villains for each. That can give everyone some recognizable characters. After that just add a random assortment of hero’s and villains for diversity some notable, some slightly more obscure to fill in the rest

Superman- Lex Luthor (would prefere braniac but Lex is most likely in at this point)
Batman- Joker seems likely
Wonder Woman- Either Cheetah or Circe
Flash- Captain Cold
Lantern- Sinestro
Aquaman- Black Manta
Cyborg- Deathstroke (he was the main titans antagonist)
Manhunter (please be in)- Despero seems like the only one who would fit.
Honestly after looking at this list I would actually be happy with the roster if these people made it.
LOL J’onn isn’t important enough to put his rival in the game,he’ll be in but they kill him off all the time so I doubt we’ll see him get much attention. Don’t count out Atricitous btw, he is in that new Green Larntern 3d cartoon and is more different from Hal or Stewart whichever one they use because he’s bigger and look scarier.
I could easily see Atrocitous getting in over Sinestro even tho Sinestro is a better villain imo. I’d look to see Star Sapphire as well because she’d be a nice twist.
J’onn is constantly overlooked even though he should be 1 of the most powerful characters on the team. He’s enough of a main guy on the roster to be included though especially thanks to his importance on JL related shows.
Lobo should be DLC. It would sell a LOT.
Naaaah, son. If you have all 7 main leaguers and their main baddies, that’s already half the cast. There were 32 playables in MK9, and Boon said we’d get about the same sized cast. So, 30~ characters. Your list on top of who’s already confirmed is 17 (unless I’m missing someone). If we did everything in pairs, that means we only get Ravens villain, and then 6 more heroes and their villains. I mean, I’d just like it to not be strictly good guys+their main bad guys. It’d be kinda… not fun to me. I’ll get the same enjoyment, but I’ll know the whole time that character A is only there because character B is in it. I’d much rather each have their own Identity, as opposed to “Green Lantern’s Villain”.
These games are like top 40 radio stations. They always put in a few ‘oh wow!’ characters along with the guaranteed moneymakers.
People are forgetting that batman has almost 7 books to himself in the new 52, you can bet the bat wanking will be hard in this game so expect a roster with a lot of bat related characters.
Not everyone in pairs, just the main group, as for the most part at least among comic fans they are pretty recognizable and well liked.For the most part people could agree that they fit. The other half would be other heroes and villains they decide to pick. That is still half of the roster that can be a surprise.
Plus deathstroke is Raven’s villain (aside from her dad, but he is a bit much for this I think)
Despero is more of a Justice League villain to be honest, he just happens to have a particular beef with manhunter. I couldn’t think of anyone else besides manhunter’s brother to fit my model, but he would be pretty much a clone. I just want Manhunter in. As for the Lantern thing it is true, I just picked sinestro because he has practically been a protagonist in the comics lately, and he is the most recognizable, but atrocius would fit.
My model is mostly a way of trying to get the most people happy with the least amount of spots taken. This way all the major franchises are appropriately covered.
it is petty, but whats even pettier to me is people associating holding back to block to capcom, when the majority of 2d fighters out dont use a block button. A better troll would be to say they’re selling out to the majority or comforming…

I also said I would like Manhunter in even tho I’m not at all a fan he deserves to get in. I want some cool characters like Steel and Vixen in the game, that way they could do the animal power thing without having beastboy shapeshifting which would take more work.
If they want a shapeshifter it should be either Manhunter or Clayface and leave Beastboy out until DC decides if they want him Red or Green.
Honestly I think they’re just enjoying the freedom of not making a MK game for once. Really they haven’t made a non-MK game for like decades lol so they are trying all the weird ideas they wanted over the years at once. At least that’s what I think is going on along with baiting Capcom fans to try a NRS game.
Personally I would want Animal Man for that spot.
I’m a big Mortal Komabt fan and a huge DC comics fan too, so when DCU vs MK was announced I pre ordered the special edition right away. When I played through the game it answered how come everybody was fighting each other and I felt the story was well done. The unlimited combos was a bit much … but I still really enjoyed the game. So I can’t wait for Injustice to come out … I’m going to pre order it as soon as I can.
lol i actually think this game is somewhat of a mk10 beta. If all the mk heads and casuals like the hold back to block dont be shocked if it becomes a norm. Even though most tournament players dont mind a block button most casuals hate it, it was a big con in alot of the machinima videos with noobs playin. Even most of the comments were agreeing with the block button hate.
