I can’t ever take Aquaman seriously. Put in Aqualad from Young Justice, he gets shit done.
You should really give him a chance, as others have said, In the New 52 Geoff Johns(known for saving characters) has really made him an interesting and dynamic character. Especially his relationship with Black Manta.
That’s because you don’t realize how awesome Aquaman is.He has taken on both superman and wonder woman in fist fights, use his psychic powers to induce seizures on people, Depending on the time rules 75% of the earth, can command any sea life (which considering it’s fiction includes sea monsters etc.) And before the reboot could drain all the water out of a person’s body. Plus he was a total bad@$$ in the justice league cartoon. Now I like the new Aqulad (he is awesome), but comic aquaman is infinitely more awesome. Just ignore superfriends.
People bitched about the various things Capcom did to Marvel’s personalities back in the day, too. By the time the crossovers started when X-men vs. Street Fighter came along, it only got “worse”. Most regular people, however, didn’t care. Because the games were actually fun.
Assuming Injustice meets that same criteria (re: fun), that likely won’t change. Even if the modern internet gives people more of a chance to voice their dissent than how things were done back in 1994, where most of my fellow old-heads had to do our arguing on Usenet! 
He’s supposed “saving” has thrown so many other characters under the bus.
As a Wally West fan, I get where your coming from, but he has done all right for aquaman.
The waterbearer version of aquaman was top tier, almost near broken in some regards. Even outside that version he has dodged bullets at point blank range and fought off opponents near peer with superman.
Not to mention he can do this!
The funny thing with aquaman, is yeah he was iffy from the start, but afaik “Aquaman as Punchline for Suck” can be directly traced to a single source.

It’s easy to do Aquaman all right as no other character connected to him can get screwed. That already happened before Johns got to him.
MK9 isn’t dead yet, it still be at EVO until next year and MLG is done profiting from the game.
I know all about Aquaman and what he can do. He was pretty badass in the cartoon, getting his hand cut off (or smashed or whatever) to save his son was epic, but… he was still Aquaman. I’m sorry, but to me he’ll always be the Dan of the DC universe. Maybe I’ll change my mind after reading the 52, but… I don’t think it will.
I know the chances are slim to none, but I would love to see Hitman (Tommy Monaghan) in this game. If he was in, guaranteed buy from me.
I guess he would be the equivalent of Chris in MvC3, just guns, grenades and the like for the most part. Probably some kind of Counter/Super Counter move to make note of his telepathic abilities.
True, but my main point is the aquaman series is good.
John’s problem is he is a silver age fan boy, so he promotes those versions of characters.
That’s why he went hal over kyle, and barry over wally. The characters he has brought back are well done (for example his green lantern mthos is quality), it’s just that he ignores their replacements, who had developed a loyal fanbase of their own.
Aquaman doesn’t have that problem because he is a silver age character, so he doesn’t encounter those problems.
Plus I lol’ed at the fact he does call attention to the jokes, Aquaman is a joke in the new dcu to the criminals, who think he is like the superfriends version, he then kicks their butts.
That is also my plan for online if he is playable.

That’s because of the Luthor’s appearence in the trailer, and the joker appearing in a full model on the batcomputer in a screenshot I posted a few pages back. So we are at about the same pace as them in that regards. Still technically rumour, just a more substantial one, so thats why they are there and not raven, deathstroke ,cyborg and captain cold. Still good we have people keeping up with the info.
Really, I thought he was one of the best parts. Different tastes I guess.
I wasn’t fond of the idea of Joker getting into fist fights. Not saying it can’t work but I personally have a hard time imagining the Joker doing it.
I wish people would let go of the super friends incarnation of aquaman from 20 YEARS ago…seriously why is that the only version of aquaman people care to acknowledge, it would be like people only paying attention to the CDI version of zelda while completely ignoring every other zelda game, like seriously dudes it was a long time ago just drop it already.
