Batman is as much of an underdog as I am skinny.
Only time Batprepgod wasn’t retarded was in the Superman/Batman Doomsday story, yeah he ultimatley got the win on Darkseid but he got his ass DESTROYED.

So, did I stumble into the wrong thread or is this about the game and not about nerd comic arguments?
Swampthing, Lady Shiva, Deathstroke and Bane have all beaten Batman just of the top of my head. Swamp Thing was with prep for Batman, and he still got owned. Heck Joker has floored him.
Make no mistake Batman has to work for his wins.
But I guess who is the underdog may be subjective to how the characters are viewed so i’ll concede on this point.
The facts about gameplay and such are limited so far,so it’s what we got. When we have more we can start into some nerd fighting game arguments. Still at least this nerd argument is related to the plot of the game.
I’m pretty new to American comics. So I went to the new comic shop that opened up a few months ago, and bought a copy of the Watchmen graphic novel, and the new Captain Marvel (issue #1). I can’t believe that I missed out on all this shit. This stuff is good.
Batman surely is underdog in the cast of DC superheroes
Well after all Batman is just a human (with **Indomitable Will,Peak Human Conditioning and **Genius Intellect) after all so he can’t win every time(When i was a kid watching Batman the animated series I felt that Clayface was somehow impossible to defeat) .Given his lack of superpowers, he often uses cunning and planning to outwit his foes, rather than simply “out-fighting” them, that’s inevitable
Somehow Batman’s strength can’t be taken for granted either. Batman even punched a SWAT officer through a brick wall. He utilizes his strength/power so effectively, that a near-meta such as Deathstroke comments that Batman “hits harder than most beings with superhuman strength.”
Although Batman is a human but what he has done and archived is something that even the most powerful superheroes and villain have to respect
Even Amanda Waller created the project Batman Beyond to continue Bruce Wayne’s work, she hasn’t chosen any superheroes in the JL cast to clone. That’s enough to show how important he is in the Justice League
There are a plethora of superheroes without superpowers but of them all the Batman character relies on “his own scientific knowledge, detective skills, and athletic prowess.” In the comic books, Batman is regarded as one of the world’s greatest detectives. During Grant Morrison’s first storyline in JLA, Superman describes Batman as “the most dangerous man on Earth,” able to defeat a team of super-powered aliens all by himself in order to rescue his imprisoned teammates.Heck he even has a plan to defeat the entire Justice League team if they gone insane.
Being a human like just like Batman is just enough for me(just kidding,If I can be like Batman then I’m already a god)
Batman will be my first character to pick in this game day 1 for sure(but they really need to change his stance right now for sure, too odd for me)
Still want to see Joker though(But I think we won’t hear Mark Hamil’s voice, but at least we still have Kevin Conroy as batman in this game)
And I don’t mind a Complete Global Baturation in this game
Better late than never, glad your enjoying the medium.
Losing and being an underdog are not the same thing. The underdog is someone who is not expected to win. Losing is just that, losing. Sometimes its a twist, or a loss thats also a win. That’s why books where characters like Batman or Wolverine (who are almost never underdogs) actually lose or at least pay a tremendous price in victory are so compelling.
The Watchmen are underdogs defined. You never believe even for a second that they are going to come out on top.
Well, in my opinion that’s not true.
What you describing is his power level. Yeah, Deathstroke did kick Batman’s butt, but Deathstroke is damn skilled and a meta human. Yaeh, Lady Shiva did kick Batman’s butt, but she is supposed to be the superior martial artist and so on, and so on.
Superman is more powerful than Batman, when it comes to the power, but when it comes to winning?
When it comes to winning Batman is nearly as sick as Doctor Doom. Silver Surfer is more powerful than Doctor Doom and Doctor Doom has to come up with science and magic to win, but when he does, he wins. No, not only does he win, he also steals the powers of his opponents, simply because he can.
When Batman has to win, then his methods can take down the entire Justice League and they already did exactly that.
There is a reason why Batman is called Batgod by some readers. Batman is not an underdog, because he has the greatest power of all time, when it comes to comics… and no, it’s not money, even though that’s a great power. The plot is the power.
One of Batman’s things is the fact that he’s a human that can take down gods just by using his intellect.
He isn’t an underdog because you know he’s going to win or at least survive no matter what, the entertainment from batman comes from wondering how he’s going to do it and when.
I’ll give you guys this one then, apparently i’m in the minority here.
Just curious but did they show any of the alternate costumes for MK9 before the game was released?
I think I would be more hyped for a classic costume trailer over character reveals.
i forget, I think some were at least leaked.
One, they showed Ermac’s alternate costume in the Kratos trailer before the game came out.
I hate this stance DC takes because of two things: a.) A superior intellect won’t protect you or even help you against a legitimate god or omnipotent force. Even Batman couldn’t avoid death or being beaten by sheer power. And b.) Batman isn’t the smartest in the DC Universe but he almost always wins. Twice I think he’s lost when it should have been more. Wasn’t there a panel where he admitted Luthor was the smarter one? I can’t remember whether that was comic or TV.
Just because you’re a god doesn’t mean you don’t have a weakness, i’m not saying he can beat someone whose literally invincible with 0 weakness at all.
I duno if this has already been seen, but move-lists for Grundy and Cyborg from TYM.
I like that they kept the MK styled moves, same button combination on a different button gives you a different move instead of a different property like most games.
I highly dislike that they did that.
Here’s hoping we can get it changed by speaking up.
Thats a stupid fucking idea.
These people pride themselves on being different and creative, changing their move inputs just to be like the other fighters would be dumb and out of character.
The only other games I know (or remember) that do that type of thing is Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. I like it to because it’s easier to add new moves to characters. I mean, honestly, not every special move needs 2/3 variants.
